What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Administrator to manage and optimise the cloud infrastructure that supports our internal systems, build environments and live services. This role suits someone who is naturally agile, practical and comfortable working on live services alongside development teams.

The ideal candidate has previously worked in an indie games studio, small tech company or startup and has practical hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms and an ability and enthusiasm to wear many hats and adapt to challenges. They should bring a common sense and practical approach to things like high-availability design, cost optimisation, security best practices, and be confident in maintaining production level environments.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the DevOps and development teams and reporting directly to the CTO, the ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure (primarily Azure)

  • Monitor and optimize cloud environments for performance, availability and cost

  • Manage cloud networking, identity and access controls

  • Support CI/CD and build pipeline integrations

  • Collaborate with development and data teams on infrastructure requirements

  • Implement backup, resilience and disaster recovery strategies

  • Enforce cloud security best practice

  • Proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities and propose solutions

  • Implement realistic, iterative and practical infrastructure improvements

Requirements

  • Proven experience administering cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

  • Strong understanding of cloud networking and identity management

  • Experience with monitoring and logging solutions

  • Knowledge of high-availability and scalable architecture principles

  • Scripting and automation experience (Powershell, Bash, C# or similar)

  • Solid understanding of cloud storage and database solutions

Desirables

  • Previous work in an indie games studio, small tech company or startup
  • Experience supporting live game services or game production workloads
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines & version control
  • Cost optimisation and cloud governance experience
  • Programming skills, in particular C#
  • Familiarity with Facepunch or our games
