That, or watch some movies, read some books/comics. Inspiration can be found anywhere.
ive finally ghettorigged myself a guitar recording setup and i've been downloading VST's left and right
can anyone recommend some of their most used guitar-geared vst's?

But it's $249
So I've been using FL Studio 9 Producer edition. But lately everytime I tried to record my voice or make something the program glitches and does like a jump skip making impossible to record something correctly. I'm thinking about reinstalling does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it ? Didn't use to do it before so I'm wondering what the fuck is going on ! someone please halp! :smith:
Why are you using fl 9 anyway? Moving from fl studio 9 to 10 was the best decision I've done in a while, and that was almost a year ago.
i suck at fl studio and making music in general
i've been trying for years but i have no clue in what direction to go to learn
people just seem to pick their skill up out of nowhere
and music theory and mastering/mixing seem impossible to learn unless you already have some sort of knowledge of them
It takes a long time, just gotta read up on stuff. I always hated how everyone seemed to be automatically better than me, but just practice man.
Did sound for a children's charity fundraiser.
I only turned up (With my whole rig) to do the sound for one band and a solo artist but stuck around and did the whole event for them (Playing children's CDs and such - They were going to do it through a pisspoor system). Got paid my expenses, very cool, great experience and it felt good helping out.
It was a great for networking too, many a business card was handed out.
Other than recording audio I think the main advantages it also has are the echo (a decent tape echo effect which is way better than straight digital delay) and the neptune pitch adjuster thing for recorded vocals: you can do all sorts with it, it's quite handy for transposing random vocal samples to fit with your song if you so wish. Hope thats useful info :)
So considering I bought a trumpet, do you guys have any online resources for beginners? All I can find is crap
Anyone else have any ideas on how to fix my problem ?
Unfortunately it's quite a difficult instrument, as oppsed to say, sexaphone. It's gonna be pretty hard without getting some lessons to start you off imo :(
You've tried youtube right?
Me and band are thinking about getting monitors to our gig room but i was wondering if it is possible to make it so that mixer board captures sound of guitar amps and bass amps too so i can have monitor behind my back so i can hear instruments better?
This is me, feedback?
From description "Hey, this is me playing guitar. I've only been playing guitar for 1 1/2 months and self-taught. I practice usually 9 hours on weekdays and 13 hours on weekends. Please give me some feedback. I'm using a Line 6 Spider 2 amp and a Squier Bullet-Strat"
Gotten a job as a studio-mixer and general sound-guy in my local town(I have 1-2 co-workes depending on what's needed).
It's one of the most interesting but tiring jobs I've ever had. It's fun when you get free concerts, talk to famous people, mix and such, but on the other side you have talentless youth that have no idea how to play(in studio), don't want to use metronomes and weird artists that are really picky about everything.
We're mixing for this metal-band right now, and it's the most out of time crap I've ever listened to, and they didn't want to use metronome.
We spent 8 hours in ProTools stitching and listening, on the bass and drums alone. We weren't going to let the band off so easily, so we dragged the drummer and bassist into the mixing room, so they could hear how bad they were. Me and my co-worker continuously moaned, commented and laughed at the bad playing, while the bassist and drummer sat in the room with us. It was glorious!
you think thats interesting ive been staring at the 'when it rains it pours!' soundcloud screen for 30 minutes now
Tomorrow, me and some of my colleagues are going to be rigging a Beatles-concert for the younger musicians in the general area. I just know it will be Yesterday, yellow submarine and let it be on repeat for the whole evening..
I'm sure you'll get a Lucy in the sky or a help somewhere
FL Studio suddenly doesn't want me to use my mouse scroll. It just doesn't work in fl studio, but in everywhere else it works fine. I've looked through the settings and there wasn't anything that could fix it (at least I didn't notice anything).
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I felt like making a few songs. Either I suck horribly or I'm too inexperienced for this stuff because I end up making every song sound loosely like an another song (albeit shittier) which is a do-not-want result.
Ookay. I'll let composing be for now.
i was given task to make mastering and mixing for song two friends made, there is going to be alot of effects like bass drop on vocals and stuff like that but i have no idea how to make with reaper, does anyone know how to do it?
Bass drop? Like the boom in metalcore?
Hey hey musical homies, I'm selling an album on bandcamp this weekend, $2.00 CAD for over a little over an hour's worth of music. (Mostly drum & bass and drumstep with some dubstep/house)
No one knows who I am so I thought I'd get some word out.
