I had been told up and down what happened in every single ending down to almost every detail before I actually finished the game, but when I finished it I still felt extremely robbed and cheated by Bioware, even though I knew exactly what was going to happen beforehand.
It's like someone telling you that they're going to punch you, and then an hour later punching you in the face. It doesn't really soften the impact of the blow at all.
Have no proper internet, so done alot of these. I tethered my phones unlimited 3G to my PC so I can actually get on steam and Origin though
I'm sure a lot of you have seen this, but this is unquestionably the best ending analysis out there.
Right, so essentially my disillusion with ME3's ending has led me to write my own epilogues for the series' minor characters. I've done three so far, and I'll probably do a handful more. I figure any official cinematics will only provide closure for major characters and the races, so I took a more personal touch with these. They're roughly in the style of Dragon Age's 'modular'-type epilogues.
Dr. Conrad Verner
Alive – Following the activation of the Crucible, the work of Dr. Verner was thrust into the forefront of academia. With his theories on dark energy ultimately proving invaluable in the understanding of Prothean scientific thought, Conrad undertook an extensive lecture tour of Citadel space, as well as aiding in the analysis of scavenged Reaper technology, before finally settling down at the rebuilt Bekenstein Institute of Theoretical Physics. Despite this, his fiancée politely refused his requests to name their new daughter ‘Shepard’.
Deceased – When news of his death reached the former employees and refugees of the Shepards Foundation, a grassroots campaign began almost immediately to have his sacrifice acknowledged. Following the convening of a new Alliance Parliament, Verner was posthumously awarded the Star of Terra, one of only a handful of civilian recipients. The Shepard-Verner Foundation subsequently became one of the most active refugee charities in Alliance and Citadel Space.
Cpt. Lee Riley /Multiplayer Characters
Alive – The defence of Cyone became almost legendary in Alliance Military circles. Stories of how a four-man SpecOps team held the line against wave-after-wave of Reaper forces drew fresh attention to N7 program, with hundreds of eager marines submitting applications. Following the defeat of Reaper forces, Riley returned to Rio de Janeiro to assist in the rebuilding of the ‘N School’…and to take some well-earned leave.
Citadel Council Pt. 1
First Council – With the Reaper threat eliminated, many citizens of Citadel Space voiced their outrage at the lack of preparation, and the ignorance of Commander Shepard’s warnings. Following the establishment of the provisional Citadel Council, councillors Tevos and Sparatus stepped down to assist in the rebuilding of their homeworld, whilst Valern chose to retire from the public eye.
Second Council - With the Reaper threat eliminated, many citizens of Citadel Space voiced their outrage at the lack of preparation, and the ignorance of Commander Shepard’s warnings. All three established councillors returned to assist in the rebuilding of their homeworlds, leaving several species scrambling to find suitable representatives.
Citadel Council Pt. 2
Personal quest completed – Despite his personal loss in the conflict, Dominic Osoba quickly became a key figure in the post-Reaper galaxy. Acting as humanity’s representative, he helped lead a council that represented all of the galaxy’s interests, putting no race before another, and oversaw the readmission of a half-dozen species to Citadel Space.
Personal quest not completed – Although he proved an able representative of humanity, Dominic Osoba remained haunted by his son’s death on Benning. Despite his best efforts to maintain his public persona, he chose to step down as councillor after just 2 years, leaving an already-hectic Alliance parliament to fill his seat.
Anyway, I'm tired and off to bed. If there's a genuine interest, I'll publish the rest. If not, I'll banish them to a Tumblr.
Tali and Garrus could married if Tali or Garrus isn't romanced, only if they don't get pwned by Harbringer's beam.
I really like how this one isn't entirely negative (as with what could happen to Conrad), but rather an outcome which could affect the galaxy in another way.
Was anyone else incredibly paranoid when doing the mission with Riley's squad? I expected them to turn out to be indoctrinated at any second. I mean Riley kept her helmet on even though she had voice lines.
Just had two Krogan Biotic charge off the map at the same time.
It was beautiful to watch them soar towards Palaven so majestically. :')

I don't understand why they just can't admit that there may have been flaws with the games. They keep spouting "artistic integrity" but aren't artists supposed to be accepting criticism to help refine their work?
Anyone got the latest link to Gibbed's latest save editor, and can anyone tell me how to get rid of Kaidan using it? I know Ashley's erm... slightly annoying, but I'm quite annoyed that a lot of dialogue is cut out when Kaidan is in your party and not Ashley
Also, I know that Soldier is boring, but why do I keep picking it...
Honestly, I'm probably one of the few people who thought ME3 in general just wasn't a good game. I'm a person who can see (And get annoyed by as a result) flaws and issues really easily, and it sorts of shows that the game seemed to be rushed out without much testing or feedback. The writing has some good parts but most of the time I find it melodramatic and nonsensical, the animations tend to be really rigid and a hell of alot of old ones from ME1 and 2 get recycled for important scenes (Such as Legion chokeholding Shep being Saren's animation ), there's not much freedom in sidequests since most of them involve just heading to a planet and doing some scanning then heading back, the whole War assets system was handled terribly since it undermined every choice by turning all of them into a number and in the end Only seems to decided if the Big ben blows up, the soldiers get killed or if Shepard survives , and the worst part is the horrible railroading and bad development decisions that spit at the "massive" choices from the previous games and made them entirely useless by either making the same thing happen regardless of what choice you made, turned into yet ANOTHER email, or only resulting in a different number for your war assets.
I can understand that people enjoyed the game right up until the ending, but I did not enjoy the game at all. Granted, it'd be impossible to get the whole game redone what with time and money, but still, there were so many cop outs, bad decisions and rushed moments that it isn't much of an excuse.
Conrad was my favorite character since ME2. No stupid personal issues, no getting Shepard to solve all of his stupid fucking problems. Conrad was like the only dude in the franchise aside from (Paragon) Shepard who legitimately wanted to help other people, with no personal stake in it.
Think about it. In ME1, if you Paragon him, he admits that he just wants to help out Humanity and eventually goes back to Earth to do his part.
In ME2, despite the crazy obsession, his sidequest is all about him trying to help someone else. None of this "oh Shepard I'm in trouble, give me a hand" bullshit. He's like "I want to be like you and make the galaxy a better place," and finishing his little quest, Paragon or Renegade, makes him feel like a hero.
In ME3, he either takes a fucking bullet for you or ends up helping refugees and/or doing research for the war effort for no other reason than that he wants to help out, no personal stake involved.
And then, to top it all off in the end, if he's still alive he just shoots the shit with you like a regular guy.
Conrad is a god damn hero.
There are a LOT of flaws in the whole series. A shitload of them. But most of the weird and wonky shit was very easy to dismiss because it mostly flew under the suspension of disbelief. For me, I didn't really spend much time going "well this entire situation is bullshit," because I was so involved in the story that I didn't give a shit about the quirks.
And then when Space Ghost shows up, the suspension of disbelief comes crashing right the fuck down, and saying "I'm sure they'll make up for it later" doesn't cut it anymore. I've heard a lot of talk about "high expectations" being responsible for the disappointing ending, but high expectations are the only reason these games weren't completely banal, frustrating and awkward. I couldn't give two fucks about the shitty inventory systems or the stupid space-mining because I figured it wouldn't be a complete waste of time in the end. And then it was, and suddenly all those little flaws sprinkled throughout the series started to stack the fuck up in retrospect.
If the game had a cliche-but-decent ending, I would have been like "alright, I pretty much expected that, but it was a good ride and worth the time and money invested." But with such a fucking trainwreck, it's really difficult to give the games the benefit of the doubt anymore.
