    Getting bit bored of independent so heres this instead

    Faction Alignment. Combine


    Unit206 troops begin stacking defenses on supply train ready to leave the city and resupply front line troops.
    Faction information. Formed 6 years after the seven hour war as just another infantry unit tasked with combating any resistance groups in and around major cities. Nothing special, unique or different about this unit. In combat they are limited to certain combine resources such as mortars, air support, reinforcements and the ability to take temporary control of small civil protection units in the area. Typical type of missions include Search and destroy, sweep and clear, patrolling the outlands and canal routes around cities and escorting combine tech and valuables needed to keep a city running, e.g food, water, weapons and ammunition for local civil protection teams, ect.

    Area of operation. Eastern Europe

    Just wanna throw out that Overwatch refers to all Combine forces under arms on Earth and not just the Transhuman Arm.

    Somewhat useless trivia, but if you look at some of the voice files belonging to Overwatch (or Dispatch) you can see it refers to CPs as Protection units/teams and to soldiers as Stabilization units/teams, which I imagine is how the Combine internally refer to those Overwatch branches. That's how I've distinguished between the two in my posts.

    As the number of Combine forces rushing to defend Voroschi increase the advancing Zvezda Brigada troops are forced to slow down. Mechanized and armored units are ordered to hold secured territory while infantry forces dig in throughout the industrial sector. Convoys of trucks begin to haul captured resources, alongside the wounded, out of the city and it soon starts to look as if the ZB forces are preparing to pull out.


    With several armored vehicles lost either due to combat or simply because they have no more fuel or ammunition to keep going Zvezda Brigada have deployed several tank hunter teams to locate and neutralize Combine armored vehicles.

    With contact having been made with the anticitizen cell known as 'The Woodsmen', nearby patrols are ordered to initiate a pursuit. As various splinter groups are discovered and engaged, the men of the 241st find that the Woodsmen aren't ordinary enemy fighters; many of those that choose to stand and fight prove themselves to be crack shots, while those who continue to escape do so with an intense focus and, unlike the average anticitizen combatant, hold onto their weapons and equipment (with the exception of any grenades they might throw as a 'parting gift').


    Where sizeable groups are located in the vicinity of an Operation Detainer checkpoint, it falls to the HMMWV crews to engage the enemy in combat with the heavy ordnance mounted on their vehicles. The torrent of heavy weapons fire can and does cause further anticitizen casualties, but it would seem that in the midst of combat the Woodsmen cell only takes stock of casualties from a tactical standpoint; any emotional attachment that exists does not appear to be expressed whilst bullets, 40x53mm grenades, and TOW missiles are flying around the battlespace. Also, it is relatively easy for the woodsmen to deduce where the ordnance barrage is coming from, which can potentially lead to a counterattack.

    It has been a week ever since the alliance of Podokovsky Liberation Fighters and Zvezda Brigada stormed against the combine industrial city of Voroschi, later in the battle the Minutemen, The Railroad and the Woodsmen joined in their battle to take the city, while at first things started to look promising for the resistance, several crippling blows are taking its toll on the PLF, out of the 400 combatants that broke into Voroschi, only 187 are still alive and from those only 68 are capable of fighting, many were killed by the carpet bombings of AF7 and surprise attacks of the 12th Armored Regiment but the most brutal blow was made by The Inspectors, not only killing hundreds of PLF members but of innocent refugees and civilians.

    Sergey: [Tovarish General Kvostov, I'm sorry to inform you that we are pulling out, we have lost too many lives... We got cocky, we were overzealous and now we are paying the price... General, you need to get your men out of here, if you care for them as much as I care for mine, tell Dima to lead them out, carry and pillage as much as you can! we are going to take the civilians and partisans out of the city and try to take what we can as well, I hope we can talk after this... Sergey out.]

    Sergeant Kerry and the rest of the minutemen stationed on the Mall HQ left early in the morning to join with the rest of their men, meanwhile Sergey fulfilled his promise and gave Huxley the M60 he had promised as a token of gratitude between the PLF and the Woodsmen, as much as the PLF may dislike them, they saved many lives.

    Officially, the Podokovsky Liberation Fighters are pulling out, the surviving members are escorting around 200 civilians and partisans in a huge convoy through the destroyed city, while fighting and taking hostages of the 241st Infantry Regiment although a few of their members willingly try to join the PLF, they are treated as hostages nonetheless and will later be interrogated near Podokovsky, once they reach Voroschi barricades, the convoy will separate and try to reach to Podokovsky using alternative routes.

    Meanwhile, a few members stay behind and provide protection to the moving convoy, in this case, Lisa managed to kill several conscripts in a sniper nest and took their place.

    With the attack falling into disarray, the Woodsmen decide to cut their losses and run. Col Huxley sends out the general order to all Woodsmen teams in the city to retreat and await coordinates to regroup.

    The 241st pursues the fleeing Woodsmen into the forest, much of which was turned into a dense bog by heavy rain. Their vehicles do them no good in the thick muck.

    One favored tactic of the Woodsmen is to leave enemy corpses in plain sight and booby trap them for whoever comes along.

    What made me laugh was the tents. The 405th scoff at that idea, they have to sleep in the snow during recon patrols.

    4. History of your faction: In the first stages of The Battle Of Voroschi, a stray headcrab mortar shell hit the outer wall of the city. A nearby group of exhausted workers finally had the opportunity to leave the harsh working camp, into the woodlands that are slowly crawling up to the cities' perimeter. Two of these workers named Maxim Zaytsev and Lonnie Wallace, took the responsiblity of keeping the small determined group together. No one had anyone, except for eachother. The group led by the two brave men stopped becoming a herd and started to become a family, forged of broken men and women. The Family is now a stable group of nine survivors, each mastering the arts of survival and hunting.

    Scavengers visiting the abandoned city have stumbled upon a former settlement. What they saw before them blew them away. Two T-55s in almost pristine condition, as well as a fuel truck most likely filled.
    The total Invoice on this loot drop is:

    2 T-55 Medium Tanks

    1 M35 Truck filled with fuel for said tanks

    1 Homemade sentry turret made from a M113 Minigun (empty)

    2 engine blocks for whatever you need

    3 Supply Crates filled with medical supplies/Tank shells

    1 Bottle of Vodka

    Consider this my Christmas gift for you guys, There is a third Tank in the corner, but it's rusted out. Its only use could probably be for it's radios. Like I said in the post before, I will be on Vacation/Holiday. I will be back on the 28th to continue content.

    I was wondering, do we have a map from the area we're doing this RP in? Because it's hard to say if The Family is anywhere close to Berezan for the supplies as they are moving farther away from Voroschi.

    This is exactly why I kept the playable area to just Sector 17, that way everyone would be within a reasonable distance from events instead of having to trudge halfway across Europe to get to something interesting.

    BORISLAV, THE TRADER MASTER.


    Faction Alignment: Independent.

    Area of operation: Unknown, some say that Borislav was seen in northern Russia and others say he was seen near city 46, what used to be Istanbul, Turkey. This could just be a rumor.

    Many people have heard of a caravan that travels through the wastelands of the world without any problem, like a magical entity not affected by total control of the Combine -- this is of course just a rumor, the truth is that The Caravan are just a group of roving traders trying to survive on this new world, led by Borislav, an old man known by everyone as the "crazy Ukrainian merchant" or as the "living form of capitalism".

    There are a lot of rumors behind him and his caravan, some say he used to be a military commander who took control of the Ukrainian military forces and led them up to the north, only to return and barter their pristine military equipment as a merchant, others say he was part of a known mafia clan, some even say he was Borislav Makarovich, the Ukrainian president that took the power after Leonid Kuchma's scandalous administration, younger minds born shortly after the 7 hours war even wonder if this jolly old man might be a modern Santa, nobody really knows who Borislav really is, even his own people, but it is known that there are no other merchants like him.

    He trades with every major Rebel and Independent faction, as expected he doesn't trade for any form of currency such as old money or the more modern combine credits, he instead uses the Art of Barter. Borislav often visits factions and asks them to offer an item and if the faction offers something, he will then consider the items quality and then trade it for something of his vast collection of cattle, food, materials, medicine, mercenaries and weapons, usually of a better quality than the item traded.

    Rarely Borislav may feel on a giving mood and give a character a Bonus, which is usually a small boost to the faction he traded with, of course this is just a rare event and it all depends on luck. Rumors say that Borislav and his caravan are travelling through Sector 17, probably looking to trade with any of the main factions.
    OOC: Hey guys, here is the first NPC faction of the thread, Borislav the trader master, but this NPC faction has several rules that need to be respected and followed.

    RULES:

    1. Everything Borislav trades is RANDOM! The trading faction has no choice on the item they get, I use a randomizer and a random number generator, everything is affected by the machine and not by me or the other party.

    2. You can interact with Borislav. You can seek and interact with the caravaneers, if you want to make so friendly events please PM but if you want to kill Borislav, CAN'T do that, if you want to raid his convoys you must PM me first.

    3. Do not ask me for favors, this faction is an NPC and who they visit, what they trade and the bonuses they give are ENTIRELY random, the results are controlled by the generator and not by me, so don't try to give me anything in exchange of a free visit from Borislav.

    4. Don't pull something out of your rear to trade with Borislav! A faction like the Zvezda Brigada is expected to have an "homemade" APC they want to trade, but a faction like the Disruptors wouldn't have such of thing, don't create things you don't currently have! be creative! trade things that fit your faction and trade them for something that MIGHT be better!

    Any constructive criticism is welcome, but it should be noted that he is not such of a thing as a random loot crate, this character as well as his faction is made to help a faction develop themselves better with the threads story as well give them an incentive to keep playing.

    Several weeks ago, Lambda 17-14 sentries noticed an increased Airwatch activity not far from their territory. As the events in Voroschi unfolded, gunships became a frequent sight at the horizon, though one specific gunship started making regular flybys over territory of Lambda 17-14.

    Despite it failed to detect and engage rebels, It couldn't be ignored for any longer as every flight over their trenches and camps posed a significant risk. After it was decided to shoot it down, rebel teams, armed with RPG launchers they have received from the White Forest months ago, took several positions on hills that this particular gunship often cruised around after finishing its recon flights.

    The gunship was caught by surprise, as it failed to perform any evasive action quick enough. Luckily, the rocket hit it in a sensitive spot, destroying its link between frontal part and its tail rotor - thus breaking its "spine" and paralyzing it. The synth falls into the treeline below, emitting a deafening mechanical wail as it spirals down.

    Following its ear-piercing agony sounds, recovery team find and inspect the fallen gunship. This is when they discover its sub-division name - Augmentation Force Seven, which is the same Airwatch formation that used jet fighters during the Battle for Voroschi.

    After the inspection is complete, all what's left to do is kill it off for good. Big Thermite charges are placed in several key places and ignited. The synth still struggles until the oxidizing pyrotechnic powder burns through its armor and melts its insides.
    Lambda 17-14 is back. It has the same leader (Daniel Hunter) and trench/tunnel system it built in the last thread.

    Also, the Nomad storyline is put on hold, as I lost the entire script (13 full word pages!) and all the motivation to continue doing it. But I might revive it if City 14 and its factions are re-added to thread and I find motivation to re-write the script from scratch.

    Podokovsky, border village of Sector 17.

    With the recent failure of Voroschi, the Liberation Fighters go back to Podokovsky and start to treat their wounded, the radio station they use as HQ became a makeshift hospital, in the meantime Sergey started a meeting at the house of a prominent local villager of Podokovsky, several people attended the meeting including Voroschi partisans that were now helping the PLF as well as the villages elder.


    Sergey: I'm glad everyone is here, we need to talk of our future plans and what we have to do for the time being.

    Elder: Excuse me Sergey but there is something I have to get off my chest.

    Sergey: Hm? Of course mr. Gudik, what is it?

    Gudik: ...I don't know what the HELL you were thinking when you led your men into a battle you knew you were not going to win! you allied yourself with the Brigada, men that have killed some of your own many years ago, do I have to remind you the three corpses with bags on their head and shot? What were you thinking?

    Sergey: I did what I thought was right, we have suffered enough of the Combines constant attacks, we cannot let them do this anymore! the Brigada are nice people they just don't trust everyone... you have to understand that together, we could have defeated th-

    Metrocop Partisan: Boss... We thank you from freeing us from the grip of the combine but... You were not going to win that battle even if all of the Lambda forces launched the attack, that city was important to the combine.

    Gudik: You made a choice that could have destroyed this entire operation, you are our defenders! we trust you! but this was an unnecessary and reckless move!

    Quintana: Everyone, please calm down, we need to keep this civilized and calm.

    Joaquin: ...Sergey, you know I'll follow you to hell's fridge and back buddy... but... I have to agree with them, I knew exactly from the start that we wouldn't win... and this... alliance with "the stars" is not exactly something I like much either... they did killed some of our own in the past...

    Sergey: Joako... listen everyone, am I the only one that sees the benefits of this alliance? they are few and they well armed and trained, we can help each other in many ways! we need to be together or else the combine will tear us apart!

    As Sergey keeps talking, a village guardsman rushes through the houses door and with an agitated voice he starts to talk.

    Village Guard: Sergey! Sergey! there are armed men outside the village! many of them! they... they have lambda symbols but they don't seem... nice...

    Sergey: ...Huxley.

    Quintana: Oh no...


    Sergey and several of his defenders rush outside armed with whatever they had at the moment, they see several villagers speaking with the Woodsmen soldiers, they seem to be interested on these new faces that just arrived to the village, Colonel Huxley noticed Sergey and his people and then walks up to them, before he starts to speak, he stares at Domovoi for a good while.

    Huxley: Jesus Christ, I know you guys hug aliens, but why do you keep one of those animals with you?

    Domovoi: grunts.

    Lisa: That "Animal" is more human than you asshole...

    Joaquin: Let Sergey talk Lisa, he can be more polite than y-

    Sergey: What the hell you think you are doing here Huxley?!

    Joaquin: Nevermind.

    Quintana: S...Sergy calm dow-

    Huxley: is that your way to receive a fellow lambda ally into your town, Sergey?

    Sergey: You are not welcome here, none of you!

    Quintana: Sergey calm dow-

    Huxley: Your people seem to think otherwise...

    Several villagers seem to be talking to the Woodsmen soldiers, giving them water and raw meats.

    Sergey: ...Why are you here?

    Huxley: Listen, just like you we have suffered severe losses on that whole Voroschi fiasco, we need lay low and hold on one spot until we are ready... You have a large village Sergey, I must admit that it is admirable to defend such of large settlement.

    Sergey: Licking my boots now?

    Quintana: God damn it Sergy! calm down already and listen to him!

    Sergey: He killed his ow-

    Quintana: You told me that twice! and... I may not like them either but we have listen to them! We need to help each other! you said that a moment ago when speaking of the Brigada!

    Huxley: I would listen to your wife if I were you, "Sergy".

    Sergey: ...fine, what do you want?

    Huxley: Just a place we can install a base of operations near this village, as a payment for letting us stay we would help you defend the village... what do think?

    Sergey: I... I don't think that's pos-

    Quintana: Would you like a cup of tea Mr. Huxley?

    Huxley: ...very kind of you missus.

    Suddenly, a Woodsmen soldier walks up to Huxley and whispers something to his ear.

    Huxley: [Hm? is that so? alright.] (in german.)

    Sergey: What is it?

    Huxley: A white van is driving up the road and heading here, one of your own?

    Sergey: ...no, fuck... might be some those commie bastards from the south, everyone! get ready!

    Huxley: You all heard the ruskie, take a position!

    As the villagers rush inside their houses, the PLF and the Woodsmen start to takes positions, the sound of the speeding van can be heard on the distance, fearing it might be a surprise attack of the V.R.P.P -- however, when the van finally stops in front of the village, an armed guard comes out of the drivers seat and waves at Sergey, then the side door of the van slides open and other two, heavily armed guards walk out as well as an old man with a wide and jolly smile.

    Sergey: ...No way.

    Sergey: I wouldn't believe it with my own eyes... tovarish Borislav! privyet!

    Borislav: Privyet Sergey! It's always good to visit Podokovsky, good for business! and hello Quintana, pretty as always!

    Quintana: thank you Boris.

    Sergey: You old dog, we heard that your caravan was destroyed by AF7!

    Borislav: Not exactly, one of my several convoys was attacked and destroyed but I was taking another route that day heading to Crimea and trade some things with the juggernauts, luckily the Scavengers took what they could and gave it back in exchange for some food.

    Huxley looks slightly confused, he nods at his men to lower their weapons and then looks at Sergey.

    Sergey: Right... you must have heard of Borislav before Huxley, the best trader in the business!

    Borislav: Hm?

    Sergey: Boris, this is... he is the leader of the Woodsmen, heard of them?

    Borislav: Ah! да! yes, I was told a few times by the sentries of White Forest about them, a pleasure to meet you chuvak.

    Huxley: ...a trader you say? I'm Colonel Huxley.

    Borislav: A colonel? he makes a small smirk. Ah, back then when military titles mean something...

    Sergey: We won't be able to trade this time Boris, we are having a bit of a rough time right now but maybe the good colonel here may need a few things... eh?

    Quintana: Um... Sergey we still need to talk about the meeting and I think Huxley needs t-

    Borislav: Well look no further boy, I have almost everything the modern man and woman on this brave new world needs!

    Quintana: Um... Boris we really need make an important meeting now so...

    Huxley: Hmm... I don't see your wares anywhere.

    Quintana: Uh... Huxley?

    Borislav: Oh young man! I always travel ahead of all my caravans for security, but believe me... I have everything! weapons, tools, materials, medicine, professionals, animals, mercenaries and even women to please you! ...or men if you're into that.

    Quintana: Ugh...

    Huxley: I see, What are you going to offer me then?

    Borislav: that's not how I make business chuvak, show me what you are willing to barter and then I'm going make an offer... but I must warn you chuvak, I drive a hard bargain! so...


    Borislav puts a hand on Huxleys shoulder, making a smirk while speaking with his thick accent.

    Borislav: Are you ready to make business?

    Huxley: Uhh...

    Sergey: Oh, I have to see this!

    Quintana: Ugh... you guys are giving me a headache.
    Note: Volf wasn't able to make a picture or a post due to the holy days, but he has told me in private his offers, which are:

    - One crate of tactical equipment, such as bulletproof vests, balaclavas and helmets.
    - 5 AR15's with two boxes of 5.5645mm NATO ammo.

    The items offered are expected to be used by the Woodsmen so it's considered a fair offer, in total the offers quality was considered Medium High. and thus the Medium-High quality list was used, item 8 of the list of 30 was selected, no bonus.


    Borislav: Here you go Colonel, building materials and tools of the best quality! stolen from Gate 5 near city 17 and now all yours! I'm also giving two pack mules to carry the materials, they are called Sasha and Alexandra! take good care of them chuvak!
    List of items:

    - Several bags of mortar.
    - Several sturdy tools.
    - Two pack mules.


    Okay, that was WAY too long, me and Volf planned this new alliance between the Woodsmen and the PLF for sometime, but it was a rather good coincidence that Borislav had chosen the Woodsmen to trade (a bit TOO good to be honest, I even considered rolling again and choosing another faction, but the machine makes the decision and I must respect it.) this also served as a quality example of what Borislav does and how it can help a faction develop themselves further in the story.

    Next week Borislav will visit a faction and I'm also planning to add new NPC factions as well a few new events, if anyone has any questions please let me know. I wish you all a happy Christmas, take care everyone!

    I would give it to you Dunez but sadly the model I use doesn't have those skins, I use the submaterial tool to change his face, body and eye textures.

    You can either just use generic people to represent his people or you can wait for me to upload a dupe of the model and then link down where each material comes from.

    Like I have said before on the rules of Borislav, you can't attack and kill Boris himself BUT you can attack some of his caravans and try to loot them, if you are going to do that George please ask me first so we can agree what are you going to loot out of these poor souls.

    I'll update the rules related to Boris and his interactions, it is more realistic if factions can interact with him outside of the trading.

    I won't be posting for awhile too, I've made a pose already but I messed up the SDoF :(
