They should have kept SVOGI. And Chromatic Aberation needs to fuck off.
It was too slow to keep in, and frankly it's for the best. UE4 has shown to run extremely well so far, it's fantastic. Lionhead hacked in an enhanced version of CryEngine 3's LPV into it, which has been pushed to official UE4, which is a pretty fantastic substitute for the time being.

and chromic abberation really does need to go away (Well, toned down. Heavily.) in Epic made stuff.

Just because something is computationally expensive doesn't mean you have to rip it out. hardware advances.

They had it running on a single 680 last year.

Basically, google has outsourced the development of the browser to the community, then they tack on a bunch of propretiary stuff.
I'm pretty sure that a majority of Chromium developers work for Google, but I'm too lazy to search for statistics.

chromatic aberration is actually a user setting from what i read, its just not exposed in the demos. you supposedly can turn it off from the console

    Edited:

im pretty sure that even the demo with sli 780s (idk the name of the demo) didnt have svogi because of performance reasons

    svogi is really resource intensive

there was one demo for a site, not the big demos, where they showed the new features of the engine, so shit like gi, particles, materials etc. im pretty sure it was the effects demo.
so the site's host asks "so hey is this global illum realtime" and the ue guy doesnt actually answer the question but says something like "ue has the best lighting in the industry" or some dumb shit like that

PowerEdge microservers REQUIRE large (Well, compared to the microserver) expensive chassis. They're basically small blades.
What's that supposed to mean? I was looking at the Poweredge T20, regardless.

Thanks for whoever reccomended Pale Moon for Atom builds a few pages back.

With the little tweak of putting the navbar in the title bar (and a userchrome.css tweak to fix a small text issue), it runs so much better than I could have ever hoped.

    Also, hap birthday Kaze.

The reason to why Chrome does this separate process thing is to ensure that if one tab is going nuts, it doesn't affect everything else.

Firefox has a separate "plugin-container" process.

Which is just fine as it's pretty much only Flash that throws a fit anyway.

Javascript runs in-process, and some sites will basically murder the browser once in a while.

Apparently. But good thing is that Steam is being smart by taking note of the URL and warning the user that the site might be forgery.

    Original message I've gotten.

Also, as a warning from Kaze, please make sure Java is set to ask instead of always allow. It's a very bad idea.
