Annnnd my ak bolt is fubar

    Edited:

Uhhhg how does this even happen..
Did it break while firing? Or was it dropped?
Looks like a metallurgical flaw; either it was hardened too much or the quality of the steel was poor and there was a void. I'd say more likely the former, as that is not a cast piece.

I literally took it apart and saw a small crack started fingerfucking it and a piece chipped off. I must have gotten an estonian bolt in my parts kit.

Nice ak needs an original grip though.

I got a $50 gift card to Bass Pro Shop, so I think I'm gonna save up ~$200 more and get a new cheap shooter. I have a Mosin and a SxS shotgun, so I was thinking a handgun of some sort. At this price range, I'll be looking at Hi-Point (nope), those Heritage .22 revolvers (those are cool, maybe), and surplus (depends on what they have). Anything else I should look for in the $250 range?

The US PALM AK PG is the totally more comfortable version of the Vz 58 grip. One of my AKs had a bakelite grip similar to the Vz 58's and I thought it'd be comfier if it were bigger.

CZ-82 has been on my want-list for a long time, so yeah, if they have one I'll most likely be taking it.

I'm also considering an H&R Handi-Rifle single-shot .223, anyone know anything about them?

Well, I got it in red to match the Red China Bakelite.
The black ones sell out all the time, probably second only to the Magpul MIAD grip for the AK now.
    That or the Hogue grip.

Either that or get a Nagant Revolver, TT-33/TTC Tokarev, Walther P-38, FEG Hi-Power clone, or trade-in SIG P225s.

because they're designed for 5 foot-3 malnourished slavs and child soldiers, or people with little lady fingers like Jagur.

Handi-Rifles own. Make sure you get a good scope though. Cheap rifle + expensive scope is much better than the other way around.

This cannot be stressed enough. I've seen so many fucktards putting Tasco, BSA, budget model Leupolds on Tikkas, Sauers, and Sakos it makes me want to cry.

Remember that the mount/rings are equally important as well, it's much better to shell out $300 on good quality rings for your long-range rifle than use the same fucking $10 rings from WalMart.

Does anyone know where I can buy a used Winchester Model 1897 barrel? I'm buying the shotgun from a friend, but he has the tournament barrel which is long enough to invade international water.

Sure are a lot of people getting Zastavas it seems! I got mine a month ago so it's not a Christmas present, but as a present I took my stepbrother and stepdad (neither of which have shot a gun before) to the local indoor range to burn a few mags.

The M76 stock is a great fit and completely eliminated the annoying cheek slap I was having before with the rifle. I'm still having the first round FTF in my steel magazine (plastic Tapco works fine) but it loads once I retract the bolt slightly and let it fly so I'm pretty sure the feed ramp just needs to be broken in.

The only zastava for me is the m76. I don't really dig the wood and polished bolt carriers of most yugo stuff but the round that the m76 shoots and the fact that it's milled really got me on board with the build.

His AK is some kind of Yugoslavian AK. The picture he posted is the correct grip for Yugoslavian AK's.

Not all AK variants came with the same grip. Besides, the Yugo grip is more form fitting than the baby stick that is the standard Soviet grip.

What's the best thing to use for preventing rust on my AK-74? I still get a light coating of rust on the gas tube after I shoot it. It's not really bad but I'd like to prevent that from happening if at all possible. If not, it's a replaceable part so whatever.

To each his own I guess, I really hate the standard polymer grips. They just look and feel so dainty.

Wood grips are superior in every way to either one though.
