Good but the smoke or gas or whatever looks really pasted on. Looks more like it's passing in front of them rather than lingering around them.

The full version feels like the guy and the planes are plastic toys in a miniature world for me. I would've made the bottom of the grass a little bit darker though, some burn brushing randomly at the bottom.

Some were from Skyrim, others were ported by Nirrti awhile back. The latter is on Gmod.org.

Search for props_fauna or props_flora folders in the q menu and find grass. It will spawn a green effect dot (light green floating dot). You grab this dot and drag it around to plant it where you want it to go to.

Just for the guy's shadow on the left, it seems way too sharp for a shadow cast by a fire. Depending on how it ended up looking, I might've intentionally raised the projected texturefilter to make it more fuzzy as it would look in real life.

The fire is actually pretty accurate. The only way to have made it more realistic would have been to have a second lighter shadow cast slightly offset from the original to show the light of the different parts of the fire. Far from necessary though, I think it works out well in this one.

    Edited:

It looks like he tried to blur parts of the shadow outline in post, but it blurs the metal next to the outline which that doesn't look that good. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

    Edited:

All nitpicking aside, looks pretty good to me.

Made a few based off of my TF2 loadouts.

These are actually my first time posing in years, even then I didn't pose at all, just made shitty Gmod videos. No external programs were used. I know I'm pretty terrible honestly, but I find it kinda fun.

Hey guys, i'm trying to make a 3 way lighting but i have some problems with it. Do i have to place those lights too far away from my subject? Because if i place them closer to my subject, i can see the light source and it looks like shit like there are floating light bulbs

The glow is a bit dense and opaque, and that flash is really large for a silenced gun. It could work, but you'd need to throw even more light on the guy/grass for it to look right. Additionally, make sure the muzzle flash/glow blending mode is set to "screen."

It's a start though. Making muzzle flashes look convincing is difficult and takes a lot of practice, but it's worth it.

IIRC, you can use the Color tool to change the lamps' color and transparency. You can use it to hide the lamp's glow without losing the illumination effect. Dunno if it still works, but is worth a try.

Also, toy with the intensity and distance settings.

Thanks for the info, but that was the only muzzle flash I could find that was transparent or that didn't look odd.

There shouldn't be a muzzle flash with that, he has a suppressor mounted.

Suppressors actually can occasionally have muzzle flashes, but they're generally small and narrow, like little suppressor farts rather than a full blown muzzle flash.

Still, 90% of any gunshot (except from a cheap weapon) is going to just be smoke, suppressor or not.
