I've had mine hit 116c. Pretty normal under heavy load too. Pretty much idles between 50c and 60c.
Which is fine because i don't need tacticool gpu.

real gamers spend thousands on liquid nitrogen cooling of their system so they can sleep easy knowing their PC isn't going to go above 0 and instantly melt + explode

116, even for a graphics card, is way too hot.

For reference, mine has never gotten above 80 even in the summer with the windows open.

Hottest mines ever gone was 89c on BF3 (Ultra), only reason was because the fan speed was set to 29%.

Hottest I ever hit on my HD4850 was 100c. Then again, from what I hear that particular card runs hot, so it's not just mine.

Yea, I'd be worried if my card was hot enough to boil water, even if other cards reach those temps.

For all the shit Fakefactory gets for his alternate character models (which is deserved), I really do love the added detail to the game. Just stick with the default models, soundtrack and weapons and it's gold.

My old XFX 8800GT was for one period of time (about two weeks) until I cleaned it from all the clogged dust, reaching about 105c in games It was also mid summer and very hot. The card still works though. But yeah, best to keep it under 90c.

If someone had the patience and was nice enough they could create a "lite" version of his mod with just the Maps and textures.

I'm nice, I just don't have patience to wade through the models and textures and see what it doesn't need. Plus I don't have the mod downloaded.

And also downsize the textures because I'm pretty sure they could be half the size they are now and still look good.

He has a few questionable decisions here and there, but 99% of his additions/changes are for the better. It definitely helps hide the Source Engine's age.

My 570 goes up to about 70 when playing Dead Island for a few minuets, other than that its usually quite low. Strange because I managed to play through the entire of Dead Island without once heating my card up, but then when I come back to have a second run through it starts heating up and making a terrifying noise to the point where I don't want to risk it.

Some 570's have quite loud fans, my palit one isn't too bad though, mine has got to around 80c when playing Shogun 2, it can safely operate up to about 90 so its nothing to worry about man. Great cards

The fan is the only thing on a graphics card that's gonna make noise short of a popping, which means the circuits would probably be gone.
