Is it seriously 3 old maps?

It's impossible to say that these games aren't recycled and mean it. It's just impossible.

Maybe it's just me but posts like this seem really out of place in the news section. We've got threads about the tax cut debate, the presidential race, and other insightful scientific or current event pieces, and then we get a 'news' post that's just a link to ign about a game releasing maps.

This doesn't seem newsworthy at all to me, people who play CoD may or may not be excited, if they aren't, they won't buy it. I don't know why people get so up in arms when they release this stuff. If you're offended by it, don't buy it. Clearly there are people who enjoy it and want to buy it, and that's their right. Why get so pissy about their right to buy something they want?

i love how they just port the maps back. meanwhile other game companies actually pull the maps back, but add modern twists to it to make it look, play, and feel nicer.

Video game DLC isn't really sensationalist headlines material.
Oh wait it's CoD that means we can have a good old Facepunch circle jerk about how much better we are than those plebeians spending money on things we don't approve of.

I remember MW2 had 3 all new maps and 2 old ones and that was okay by my standards, but when MOST of the maps are recycled they are taking it too far.

At least there's new spec ops missions, but that won't make me buy it.

There's definitely more mission variety but the missions themselves seem shorter.

That's a shame. I can't say I didn't enjoy the main campaign. Yeah, it wasn't terribly long, but the whole 'fighting on American Soil' thing was pretty cool. I didn't get into actual multiplayer too much though, just because I'm not great at shooters using a console controller.

Because apparently, if you play Call of Duty, you are a mindless drone and you have no taste in video games, because your tastes are not in tune with mine.

At least, that's what a lot of Facepunchers like to think.

Spending 5 euro on DLC that is not on steam sale.

The problem with map packs like this, though, is that, if you don't buy [all of] the map pack[s], you won't be able to play a large portion of the game, as you will get kicked out of matches (whether automatically or by players) and be unable to select certain modes that you previously could. This was a really annoying issue in the Halo games too.

It wasn't that annoying in Halo 3, the lobby gave you options to play on only the original maps or the maps from a certain map pack for example, and many people still played on the original maps because they were awesome, as well as Bungie doing their occasional weekly special thing on the original maps (excluding Foundry, but everyone bought that map pack because it was awesome and it later became free anyways).

Although Halo's map packs were more expensive per map ($10 for 3 maps rather than $15 for 5), they were good because of what you could do with them in Forge mode. Foundry never got boring.
