Started building my own little messed up mod, i managed to buy a retro radio for 30euros it was broken though but i only wanted the "casing".

    Been doing some engraving.

My goal is something like this, with fan controller knobs.

Holes in the top for exhaust fans.

Drilled holes for fans and grill.

These small plastic stuff is fucking genius.

    Bloody genius.

    17mm hole and 19mm startbutton

    Updated 07-15

This is how far i got for the moment, waiting at some parts.

To big micro atx?! Yes really.

    Started working on the back.

    Only the psu part left.

    Thread music.

Damn that'd be sweet. Only problem I'd think would be heat management and a lack of space.

As for the button, maybe make your gigantic one that presses the other one, it could be really simple, just a polished wood piece with a knob at the back.

I should fit it 24cm should be enough but i will need a short graphic card.

    I vote Mini-ITX.
Yeah i have been looking at that, mini itx with a decent socket and pci-e wont increase the price to much.

So, let's say 8" for the GPU?
    Maybe a 5770 will fit?

    Edit: It's 8.18", maybe.

    Edited:

Maybe you could do CF 5750, and get a Micro-ATX?

Oh i thought there was, it just looks familiar. Anyway i've done a few random case mods like boxes and shelves and stuff. The best way to do it is to get a metal sheet or what ever and cut it to the size of your case and then buy a small enough motherboard. Probably smaller then micro-atx and stick everything on. Then for fans just cut a hole in the back.

    It's fairly straight forward

I think you're going to get a Mini-ITX... Anything bigger will probably not fit in there... Are we going to find a Mini-ITX, that allows CF? A 5750 WILL fit in the case though. CF of those will run New Vegas like a charm... A single one would do to.

I probably go with a single 5750 or 5770. And i think i can fit a matx motherboard in there. I'm geting the tray soon then i get much better measurements.

Micro-ATX are around 9.5x9.5-inches. You're not going to fit a Micro-ATX in there.

Yeah i know most are 24,3cm wide some are smaller, but the mother tray will probably make it even smaller if i dont just make it stick out

If you don't plan on CF'ing, I say you should go Mini-ITX, just to be sure.

Looks good. Where you gonna have the PSU? Left bottom corner?

    Edited:

Maybe you could find a start-button that you could like turn, and it started up... That could be pretty damn awesome.

Yeh having a button to turn things on is absolutly AWESOME!!!

Rofl just find any old button from any old case and stick it in.
What's with the masking tape at the top?

Are you putting fans at the top?!?

I said "Turn" not "Press", I mean like, an old radio maybe, when you're turning up/down for the frequency.

I feel like a dick bumping this thread but.

    As expected m-atx slightly to big, so the motherboard needs to be around 22cm wide/depth. M-atx is 24,4 x 24,4cm "9,6inches x 9,6 inches"

But most motherboards are around 20cm wide/deep so it will fit yet still should i go for mini itx?
