Is there like a way to see how yum configured something it installed? I want to download the latest source and have it overwrite the yum install.

Most software places the binaries (or makes links) in the standard directories, no matter if they're pre-compiled or just compiled by yourself.

I want to know what the yum php was configured with, so like the --prefix, etc. That way the options the yum php has the new one will too.
