The Xbox 360 is finally gone. I got a cool amount of $215 for it. Not as much as I would have liked (The whole bundle was totaled at somewhere near $550)

While I was at the store (wasn't GameStop, it was an independantly owned store nearby) I grabbed Modern Warfare 2, Bad Company 2, and NHL 10.

From what I've heard since the PS3 came out, LittleBigPlanet is probably something I should try. But other than that, can you reccommend me some games to try on my new PS3? I won't be getting the PS3 until the new units ship into the store on Wednesday.

Genres I like: FPS, Racing, US Football, Hockey, Third-Person Shooters, Survival Horror

I heard a lot about Uncharted series, give them a try even though I haven't myself :P

GTA IV's always great to whip out once in a while and run people over

Uncharted is pretty much the 'must-have' PS3 game. Get both of the games.

To my both Uncharted games are massively overrated, I didn't have much fun playing them.

No, no no no. Don't buy it on PS3 for the love of god :ohdear:

Also the Uncharted games are a must have, they have been mentioned already, I know, but they are just that worth having.

    Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2.
    Two splendid action/adventure games.

    Heavy Rain.
A interactive drama which acts like a fresh breath in the sea of desaturated FPSs.

    Killzone 2.
I personally don't like this game too much, but a lot of other people do, so be sure to at least check out the demo to see if you like it.

    Edited:

and if you want some solid survival horror, be sure to check out Dead Space. It has an amazing atmosphere. Beware, the demo does not do the game's justice.

I'll think about: Ratchet and Clank, Motorstorm, Demon's Souls, GTA IV, and Killzone.

Perhaps I'll see if there are demos on the PSN store or whatever it's called.

3D dot game heroes looks pretty good.

If you're at all interested in the story of the ratchet and clank games which you're probably not, it goes tools of destruction - quest for booty (this is on psn but has a retail release in UK) - a crack in time. I think they're all pretty good games.

I have a PS2, and I have the Online Adapter for it. However, the new PS3 I'm getting doesn't have the PS2 capability. Although I'm sure you mean from the PSN Store.

    SOCOM ftw.

Also I'll be looking into MAG, that was the first game that actually made me want to buy a PS3

Metal gear solid 4, on the proviso that you don't mind playing what amounts to an interactive movie, and accept that the series as a whole breaks the fourth wall like it's going out of fashion.

    Assassin's Creed 2
Mirror's Edge (be warned, is hard as nails.)

MAG is a solid FPS, and I really enjoy it.

Demon's Souls is the most horrifying survival game on the face of the planet, without a doubt. Not because it's a scary game, but the thought of failing to survive is so horrifying I almost never want to keep going forward, when I play

Killzone 2 is really depressing. Both storywise and in terms of environment. All the brown is really overwhelming after a while. Its still a good game though, and the multiplayer is pretty fun, but if you're easily turned off by sepia tones then it might not be good for you.

    Edited:

Uncharted 2 has a very good singleplayer. It has some sad moments but doesn't take itself too seriously.
