    I'm having a lot of difficulty with the player going behind buildings, it has to overlap him when he's behind it, and it has to be under him when he's infront, to see what i'm talking about try going around the top right corner of the blue building.

    Sort the objects by their Y value and draw the front ones first.

    I'd guess something among the lines of this.setDepth(this._y);.
    Haven't done AS2 or any AS for that matter for quite some time.

    I figured it out for the most part, I just don't know what formula I can use to calculate the value, I'm almost to a playable version so any help is appreciated.
