    OK, I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out exactly what I've done wrong here (although I'm relatively sure it was indeed me).

    I'm trying to spawn some of the items that came in the Doctor Who Pack 4 (http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=116180). I realize the download is not an addon, so I merged the Models and Materials folders with the same folders in garrysmod/garrysmod/models and garrysmod/garrysmod/materials, respectively. I didn't find the TARDIS SENT or any of the models in my spawn list, though, so I then downloaded the SVN pack in the OP of this thread. I now have a TARDIS SENT and a couple of ragdolls, the Vortex, and the DW logo available, but nothing else. Is there some way I can browse all of the available models from the gmod menu, or do I need to know the names of all the models and spawn them through the console?

    Thanks to anyone who can explain this to me... I'm kind of a n00b.

    None of it is in the spawn list and as you found out its not an addon. like it says in the description you put the folders in the directory like you said you did and you can find the models in the browse menu under Garrysmod/sniper9/doctorwho

    I figured i'd start working on something doctor who related in celebration of me finally getting BBCA and not having to watch the episodes on the internet..


    Its.. a short teaser. And, well to be honest it's all i've got at this moment. There will be more! Please excuse the darkness of the video. I blame youtube.

    Edit: It would be so much easier to work on this if i had a Smith TARDIS with the doors open on the model, and one for the interior too. Any takers?

    It's been weeks.
    From my experience it's best not to bump a thread when it displays the date the last post was posted at, when it says "# week ago" or "# days ago" it's fine IMO.

    Run into a snag on the TARDIS map. I've got pretty bad model/player clipping issues due to the models i have to work with. I kinda need a smith tardis with the doors open on the interior / exterior to continue working. So it looks like I'm not going to be working on the map for a while.

    See.. what allows the tardis to be bigger on the inside in the map, requires a door to be placed on the tardis. And because the tardis isnt hollow with open doors, that kinda causes problems.

    Hey sniper, I've been experementing with your TARDIS entity a bit and have run into a problem. Obviously it's not a game changer, but I noticed I can't change it's colour/ apply other visual effects at all. The box blinks, and refreshes, but no visual change is applied. I can apply materials however.

    I tried teleporting it to see if the new colour would apply during or after dematerialization, but nothing. I'm no coder, but had a look through the code, but to no avail. If it's easy and possible, could you inform me which part of the code I need to modify to allow color changes and other effects to happen?

    Hi there, answered my own question. I simply removed the line self.Entity:SetColor(255,255,255,self.Fade)
    Still spawns as normal, now I can apply the effects necessary.

    I figured I'd get asked this :) to answer your question, I was adding a cloaking mechanism to the box, activated from the console. The problem I was having is the cloaking would activate, but the SetColour would still take priority, resulting in no cloaking! all sorted now anyway

    I never wrote the code for the Tardis, it was added in by someone else after so I'm not the best person to ask about the code. sorry.

    I am working on some stuff here and there for this mod still so its not fully dead.. just.. in hibernation for a bit...

    Phone boxes come in all sorts of colours, I think they still have red police call boxes in Wales. It'd be nice to actually see a 'New Who' series TARDIS that actually blends.

    Police boxes were decommissioned 30 years ago. There are no more active police boxes, they were all torn down. Plus red police boxes were native to Scotland.

    There was one in london about 7 years ago.

    Also we need a white version of the Tardis.

    Not entirely true though, they were red in Glasgow until the late 60s. The boxes themselves where still working up until 2000 because the London numbers changed.. they still actually keep the boxes up and running, and you can see some about london (though not everywhere) as a tourist attraction and they still keep them on some street corners in Scotland. They've brought out new ones in Scotland though now :P

    Yes, some models were left out. They weren't exactly great and are being spiffed up. Just get both and you should be okay.

    Indeed, packs 1-3 have some subpar models that I dont like anymore so I started to make them better thus pack 4 is all you will want if you want more detailed and better looking meshes, however since im not a programmer I cant code new sents, npc's, so on thus they no longer are in the pack.

    Download the third pack. It has a few poseable models in it, but the lack any faceposing and I think they dont have any finger posing either.

    As terms to the whole adventure game models, how about using them as a reference? Build upon a citizen or from scratch, model closely to Matt from the game, and then use Matt from a picture or the show as the texture? I would do it myself but I have no skill in Autodesk products.

    As terms to the whole adventure game models, how about using them as a reference? Build upon a citizen or from scratch, model closely to Matt from the game, and then use Matt from a picture or the show as the texture? I would do it myself but I have no skill in Autodesk products.
    We already have an 11th Doctor in the works, we just need to let Sniper take his time with his brilliant work.

    The Cyberman we have so far isnt even a ragdoll. Its a stiff prop. Wait until Sniper releases the actual ragdolls first.
