Okay, so I just spent 2 fucking hours uploading a 4 minute video, only to get this message.

This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by FOX.

    What the fucking shit?

Come on, it was a music video tribute to fight club. I didn't take credit for it, if anything, I'm helping FOX.

In the description, I even put I do not own the music or the footage in this video. Fight Club (c) 20th Century Fox Where is my mind? (c) The Pixies.

Does anybody else hate this bullshit??

Get a lawyer if you don't want your videos to be gone anymore, I've seen a few people do that and ended up with their videos back up.

I really doubt that. What argument do they have?

Well no. The people I've seen get their videos up had a settlement with youtube and the copyright issues i guess it's the only way to get videos up I'm not saying they trolled youtube or company's as your applying.

A settlement between their lawyers i mean.

Step 1: Get a gun, large caliber, preferably fully automatic.
Step 2: Go to Fox's corporate headquarters.

I'm not IMPLYING that they trolled them, I implied that they're bitching because they manipulated copyrighted footage even though the warnings and notices that are plastered in fine print say that they can't.

Lucky for me, I haven't experienced this yet. You just need to look out for certain things.

They own the copyright, they can do what they want with it. But I do agree that it's bullshit. If anything, you really are helping them by showing people the song and the movie.

So getting a lawyer and going to court over doing something that was written they can't do when they bought a copyrighted movie isn't bitching?

Bottom line is, the company owns the rights to the film, and they say pretty clearly you cannot edit or manipulate it for your own work regardless of if you say that it's copyrighted to them.

You aren't really helping them, because then people will most likely just listen to it for free the way you showed it to them, and the company doesn't make anything off of it. I never said it's fair or right, I said that that's how it is.

No it's not bitching. It's getting a chance to submit fan made work that isn't making money and was made for enjoyment.

AND to promote whatever they did.

    1) Person makes fan video even though the copyright holder says they can't
    2) Copyright holder takes it down
    3) Person gets lawyer so the video gets back up
    4) After some arguing\negotiation the video is back up.

So lets see, they spend money on a guy to argue that it's unfair that even though the rules say he can't do this, they took it down.

Yep, sounds like bitching to me.

Well, You and Me don't know what happen in the court room so we don't know it was bitching or not.

Here I make this simple for you i guess. Your "Bitching" will never win you any copyright battles their "Bitching" did...

Make sense? Didn't think it would.

If it happened in the court room, you wouldn't be doing the bitching, the lawyer would.

And last I checked, you're generally present in a court case that directly concerns you.

I got my account permanently disabled because of a few copyright claims.
I'm sad because of that since I had quite a few videos on it that meant something to me (and I don't have them on my harddrive any longer)
But, blergh, it isn't the end of the world. Like it matters anyway, it's just videos and subscribers.
And if the subscribers really are deadserious about subscribing they can just search up on my new user account...

Or it never actually happened and you're just pulling things out of your ass because you didn't expect anybody to debate this with you.

You clearly don't know how much a lawyer costs. Nobody would hire one over a nonprofit thing, because even if you SOMEHOW got money out of it, you wouldn't even break even with all the fees you'd have to pay.

No, you have a jaded view and seem to think that if you make no profit, you can just ignore any and all notices by the copyright holder. They pay money so they can regulate that.

The solution is to stop using Youtube and encourage others to do the same.

Like everything good on the internet corporate interests butted their way in and took control, and after literally everyone started putting up 'no play/show' lists after WMG did, and their bullshit copyright claim policies, there is no longer any reason to use Youtube.

    Go find another video site.

No, the no profit is that you're arguing about making a non-profit youtube video and complaining when it gets taken down. If I was talking about the agreements, it would be negative profit.
