    OK I bought a 2TB HDD in September, and it has been working fine up until now, as of last month there has been a suddon drop in speed and i am now starting to get install errors is my HD definitly going? is therer any way I could prolong it's life?
    installing the student version of 3DS max





    The one that really scares me:

    this happened when the HDD on my HP started dying
    so is there anything I can do?

    Call the manufacturer and have them replace it.

    SMART check failed., and replacing the HD is impossible the warranty is already up

    If you have write errors you have serious problems already and you need to do a backup immediately.

    Yeah, you're screwed. Backup and buy a new one.
