Yeah, it's official.
Can't wait, still playing Company of Heroes with Blitzkrieg Mod.
I want my Issue now. It also comes with a free copy of CoH.
I find it silly how CoH still costs money on Steam.
I am extremely pleased. Can't wait to see more of it.
While this is cool and all...
Where the flying fuck is Homeworld 3, Relic?!
Holy shit YES!
That is all.
better have an awesome battle of berlin map
That's like arguing why the original FEAR still cost money when FEAR combat was out.
Gonna leave this thread now.. too many fucking nerds here.

Oh boy Company of Heros was so much fun in LAN, I seriously can't wait!
I hope they ship with a German campaing this time though, don't want to wait for an Add-On (or DLC is you are one of those hip modern cool cats).
Need this game! Love sending artillery barrages on unsuspecting troops..
Wait, this takes place on the eastern front right?
I hope we get Commissars, that work like the ones in Dawn of War
Yesssss, but please do not bork the multiplayer with a terrible 3rd expansion pack this time!
and please don't turn this into a Dawn of War 2
I'm hoping that it's not going to be all Eastern Front '41-'42.
Probably says somewhere in the article. Too lazy to read it.
I prefer MoW but I might check it out. I just preferred the more realistic style I guess.
At least the graphics look pretty good.
Can't wait, hoping for some good stealth missions.
b) balance catered to 3v3 as opposed to 1v1
c) a game of whack a mole
d) retreat free card
e) oversimplified economy
f) Ravener Alpha
g) Ravener Alpha
h) Ravener Alpha
i) complete changes to the gameplay on most major patches (I mean marines went plasma tacs every game into oh gods please don't let my shotgun scouts touch an enemy anywhere ever gods need t2 right now so that I can get a missile tac squad and kill the vehicle that's gonna run at me in 20 seconds from now1111)
j) unit AI taking precedence over player choice - Aka you make a unit attack an enemy low HP unit. But instead of attacking, your unit spends a few seconds running into cover on the wrong side and then gets shot up without actually killing the unit you told it to kill.
k) guardian grenade spamming was nasty (was sort of fixed once they made explosive do full to retreat. - which created a bunch of other issues though.)
There was a slew of other issues. But essentially the major pipes people had, were that the system was simplified to a level where you actually had no choice. You also had no direct harrassment capability because there were no bases.
And the fact that the game had a massive catch up option. Even if the enemy had a big army and controlled the entire map, the opponent usually had a bigger income because they had no upkeep.
In part because you have a hybrid centralised and decentralised economy as opposed to a strictly centralised one like in SC. And because it was rare for a person to need more than one single type of production building.
In part because in sc units are cheap and they die extremely fast. in Dow, unit are expensive but generally resillient. In part because the damage gets spread out.
Which means you aproach the base harassment a bit differently.
But the major difference I think is, that Map control is extremely vital in Dow 1 - it's almost trivial in DOw 2.
Hell it's even importan in sc2, but not for the same reasons as dow. In dow, map control means you have a good economy, threat responsiveness and a slew of other factors. In starcraft, the only thing you more or less gain is that threat responsiveness (and an ability to secure centralised expansions but it's a bit of a different principle.)
DoW 2 was fun for a little while but then i realized it was basically a dumbed down version of CoH with units that could melee. it was to dumbed down and lacked a lot of strategy that company of heros and the original DoW had. i found myself more often than not just creating a giant mob and killing the other side with little to no micro other than upgrading weapons.
