I'll be disappointed if they don't talk about Doom 4 this year.

They really have no reason not to.

Yeah, usually they have booths set up to play new games. For instance, I can remember public demos being set up for Fallout New Vegas, Batman Arkham Asylum, RAGE, Tribes Ascend, and for 3D televisions. There are also contests, like Left 4 Dead 2 and Counter Strike and Quake Live where they give away free computers or hardware. Each year, there's a big Quake Live competition with professional teams. Its really fun, because everyone gets into it like its the Superbowl or something. They also have Wiis and Xbox 360s set up for games, and usually there's Super Smash Bros or Guitar Hero tournaments. Its also cool seeing people's custom rigs. Last year an artist had a carved plastic case, where a bunch of tiny people were worshipping his motherboard. Some companies give away things like t shirts, games, or even experimental video cards (that happened in 2010).

I've been to Quakecon twice but I haven't been to BYOC.

If I go this year, should I go to BYOC?

I usually have a lot of fun in BYOC. Its basically a huge LAN party and is really fun.
