[Elspin]

Alright so I've followed the following steps:
1) Rooted phone - worked
2) Rebooted into clockwork recovery - worked


3) followed the instructions here http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sam...l_Update_Guide

The end result was that after it said it was done installing the cyanogenmod rom, it rebooted annnnnd... nothing. It's just sitting there with a "Samsung Galaxy S2 GTI9100" logo with the yellow warning exclamation. I'm not sure what to do at this point - I can put the phone into download mode, and odin can still connect to it, but that's basically it. I'd really appreciate any help with this.


UPDATE: I've managed to get into the recovery menu using VOLUMEUP+HOME+POWER, but when attempt to repeat the operation of wipe,wipe cache, install from sdcard I get up to installing from sd card and then I get:

Opening update package...
Installing update...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "galaxys2" || (etc)
E:Error in /sdcard/update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyS2-signed.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

I'd be looking for the factory ROM and reset to defaults before trying again. Double check your ROM file, run a hash on it to check its integrity, and go surfing around the boards you got it from to see if others have this issue.

I've got it back to the original version now, after some serious hair pulling I think I might be done with this disaster, though it's good to know that I have the proper firmware

Try to do a bit more searching or post in the main android thread before you start a whole new thread here. I'm sure there's tons of tutorials and threads on things you can do from download mode with the S2.

Pretty hard to brick an S2, rule of thumb is if you can still put it into download mode it's still recoverable

Go to this site: http://samfirmware.com/ and get the firmware and instructions on how to flash the stock firmware using odin.

You didn't brick it, just flash CyanogenMod twice like it says.

Ah yes that error, just go to the link above soluble posted and get some firmware from there and flash that via odin!

Yeah, in my second post there I got the phone back and working - I found a thread for Canadian SG2 owners that had all the relevant links. It wasn't my phone, I was doing it for a friend as wolfmatyr said it worked out pretty good for him and they had the same model and carrier. After all that though they decided they just wanted their phone back to normal and ICS wasn't worth it.
