I was bullied as a kid by several teachers and principals. My mother saw first hand what went on and when my dad got word of it...well let's just say he put things into perspective for them. I got a verbal apology, and they stopped harassing me.

It's a shame things like this happen, but they do. They happen everywhere and there isn't much you can do unless you're like this man and wire you're child. Hard evidence is the only way to get any sort of justice from this kind of poor treatment toward children.

I used to take Basic Skills classes , but one year they put me in with the special needs classes, and I swear, it was like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest or something. One kid was obsessed with the weather, and would use weather related words like they were catchphrases, another was obsessed with horses and would always be playing with little plastic horses at her desk, and then there was some big, mean looking kid who was always one inch short of going berserk. I don't understand how anyone could do that kind of job without a superhuman amount of patience.

Wow... That's really fucked up. My Mom is a Sub and Part time Aid for Socially Challenged kids and I could never imagine her or anyone else with the job doing something like that in fact my mom actually likes the kids and tells me the stuff they did in class. These people are clearly not qualified for the job.

This is sickening. My youngest brother is autistic so I know how easily you can upset a kid like this. The stuff they were saying in that video must have hit that kid with some weight, and to think that happened to the kid daily. He's lucky he has a dad as great as that though, and word will definitely get out because of him.

in the future, i hope there was a way to cure most of those disease like mental retardation, that way we no longer need special education for the mentally impaired as we fixed most of the awful diseases. It's now known that we are slowly losing our humanity among the treatment of mentally impaired people.

I feel for the kid. Its stupid that he or anyone has to go through stuff like this, especially at such a young age, and especially a special needs kid. They always get the worst of situations. In high school, they always had the special needs kids just cleaning up everyone else's messes, and I hated that. People wouldn't own up to their trash, cause they could just push the responsibility onto someone else, but those special needs kids work harder than all those lazy assholes.

Also I kinda like the name Akain. Never heard it before.

Yeah, by being ignorant this surely can take superhuman amounts of patience. It's not a piece of cake, but autistic people tend to have some special interests and focus strongly on them which can also cause to affect their everyday behavior or even their spelling. It's just their way to express themselves, there's nothing wrong with that.

Aside from this, it's just cruel to see how "evil" these people seem to be. Harassing special needs students in such a manner is just beyond any definition. I hope that they get what they deserve, no one should just get away with it.

Sadly, that sort of thing goes on quite alot. I know people who have been bullied or looked down on by teachers because of their academic ability/mental health issues. It's a sad, but true, part of life.

When she called him a bastard I nearly punched my monitor. Amazing that was allowed to happen, especially with all the aides in the room.

I trained to be a teacher for a while, and I found my time at my special needs placement was the most rewarding thing I've ever done.

If you decide to take a job that involved working with any children you need patience, but you must enjoy the job. Those teachers in the video obviously thing it's an easy job and it shows as they treat the children like shit.

There was proof of what those teachers said, so how the hell are they still able to work with children?

Interesting (I hope) question: is it better to refuse autistic children or any special kids on the grounds that the school is not equipped to educate them properly, or to not discriminate and accept all special and autistic kids even if you may not be properly equipped to do so?

I am asking because I went to a private school and there were no special kids at all, or any disabled kids.

It was a special education class, so obviously they should have been equipped to handle them.
