are you denying that drinking 2 gallons of soda every day could contribute to an early death

basically you're denying that very poor health choices contribute to shortened life spans

Drinking massive amounts of anything is bad for you.

If you drink 2 gallons of orange juice every single day, I would bet it would fuck you up just as much as Cola or Water.

No, I'm saying that this is reported like the Cola is the number one killer here where it just CONTRIBUTED to the actual death, not directly causing it.

there's no way that drinking massive amounts of water is just as bad or worse than drinking massive amounts of soda

either way who gives a fuck, making such comparisons is pointless

sure it's sensationalized but I think it's safe to assume that drinking upwards of 2 gallons of soda every day is a major factor in her death

Drinking too much water will fuck up your homeostasis: unbalancing your osmotic balance, causing your cells to take in too much water and rupture, potentially causing death. Not only that, but it will also fuck up with your electrolytes (sodium, potassium, calcium, etc.), which are vital for everything, including making ATP and brain & neuron function.

Same as if you consume too much salt, your cells will, because of osmosis, expel water, dehydrating and dying.

Drink massive amount of substance X and it doesn't really matter if it was Cola or ED, because too much is always too much.

Of cource if you drink two gallons of alcohol per day, you gonna get fucked.

Point is that if you have atleast two brain cells colliding with each other inside your head, you will realize that drinking two gallons of anything is a fucked up habit.

That amount is probably even less because of what's in it.

I limit myself to one per day under normal circumstances. If abnormal circumstances kick in (kept up all night because my parents* got too drunk and started fighting was the most recent risk, though there was also having to manage all three basketball games once or twice in my freshman year) then I'll slam down another one. The reason I keep such a limit on it though is because energy drinks have such a high potency - if a man who's new to energy drinks (or hasn't had any in a long time) drinks two in one day, then he's at a high risk of having one of his organs just shut down. Even if he can slam down three or four Cokes and get little more than a sugar rush.

    What the?

I RARELY drink any ED, but when I do, I usually blend them with Jägermeister and when I do that, I can easily take 2 - 4 0,5L energy drinks in a night.

    Still kicking and shit.

You must be incredibly intolerant to sugars or caffeine then. energy drinks aren't anything but soda with B vitamins in it now, nothing like they used to be when they actually served a purpose. I know people that drink them like water and even when I have a film project I can drink up to 5 or 6 monsters/amps/red bulls during the day

Exessive water consumption can lead to brain swelling and death. Made famous by the case of two girls dying after they ingested large amouts of water while under the influence of Ecstacy. It was a media shit-storm untill it was reported they died from a water overdose. Media didn't say anything of course, they just stopped reporting.

I guess you could drink so much your stomach ruptured?

    We should ban water!

Err, 1.4 is a very very strong acid. Neutral is 7, so did you means something closer to that?
yeah I did, my mind was tired and I forgot that neutral is 7, not 0.7. Coke sits at about 4.2 in terms of acidity. My bad.

that's pretty much your logic. Coca-cola is to blame. Also, High Fructose Corn Syrup is addictive as fuck. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21623683)

The women became addicted to coca-cola because the pleasure caused by satisfying her high fructose corn syrup addiction was associated with the taste and feel of coca-cola, similar to how nicotine addicts prefer one brand of cigarettes.

Coca-cola has plenty of dangerous ingredients, such as aspartamine (a Monsanto-manufactured carcinogenic toxin) not to mention the dangerous levels of sugar.
You're logic is severely flawed to the point that I think my brain actually hurts.

You don't choose to get shot. You choose to drink Coca-Cola. I drank Coke. I'm not drinking 2 Gallons a day. Addictive? No, not really.

Supersize Me has this complete bullshit notion going around that McDonalds "forces" people to eat their food mentally. Bullshit. I can hang out in McDonalds and nobody will force me to eat their food, I can go to McDonalds with my friends, they grab a burger, and then I grab something else to eat that's healthier from elsewhere.

Nobody forces you to go to McDonalds, hell, in high school, my friends and I ate more sushi than we did McDonalds, and they were both right beside each other.

It seems to prevent me from getting to the stage where I feel the need to have one then, I bought a case of pepsi recently and was drinking 2 a day until I stopped because coffee is better imo. I'd say i'm addicted to coffee/caffeine but I still only have 2 cups a day because there's self control.

I used to drink diet coke a bunch, but recently i have winged off of it and noticed that it kinda is an addiction if you have it for so long, but after a week i felt normal and got over it. To me diet coke is a fuck ton more addicting than regular coke. But im not saying ban coke im saying it is a little addictive.

Her addiction was caused by caffeine, not taste. She was addicted to nicotine as well, another stimulant. Every soda can be this dangerous, not just Coke. It's up to the user to recognize when you're forming an unhealthy addiction.

Where in that article does it even mention corn syrup as being addictive? All I see is that it can cause cancer.
