Putting my money on something Rage related, since Skyrim is getting the kinect stuff and it would seem silly to me for Bethesda to make a cinematic for DLC, since they've never done that before.

Yeah, oblivion was released in 2006 and fallout 3 was announced in 2007, it would be more realistic to announce fallout 4 sometime 2013.

strong looking white guy VS a vague shadow that tells us utterly nothing and doesn't actually show us anything

    OMG ITS THALMOR!!!

    seriously wtf are you on

it could be a tall guy in a trenchcoat, a thalmor, a mage, a doctor, anything

the 'ear' looks only slightly like an ear, but at the same time, it doesn't, it still could be anything

He has a robe and because thalmor has robes it's a thalmor... that's like saying because the guys dirty it'll be F4 because F4 will be dirty
Yes, it could be anything, but it's way more likely to be skyrim, i didn't say anywhere that i could foresee the damn future.

I figured it was either a trailer for the expansion (as it's supposed to be as big as SI) or just pre-rendered concept art

I would quite like to see them do something completely new, take their style of game to a full on sci-fi setting. That said Fallout 4 would not be a disappointment.
Be realistic, please. Fallout 3 was a dissapointment. The idea behind Fallout was to explore the ethics of a post-nuclear world, not to make a better plasma gun.

If it's Fallout, I want some feeling behind the weapons when you use them. In Fallout 3 and Vegas, they feel kind of like the swords and bows in Morrowind. You click and it's just the will of the magic dice if it does anything. I'd like it to be a bit less D&D like

Skyrim DLC isn't a major announcement. We already knew it's coming out this month, putting an exact date on that isn't worth this much. This is a full game they're announcing, whether it's FO4 or not remains to be seen.
How do you know that it has to be a major announcement? And how do you know it is a full game they're announcing? They've literally said nothing else than "Tomorrow". To me it seems plausible for it to be details concerning Skyrim DLC.

I don't want to hope for Fallout 4, I'd be setting myself up for too much disappointment. But holy shit, if it is.

Wait, are you high? Inxile is going to be developing Wasteland and I doubt they'd want to put the Bethesda logo on their game.

I mean, Obsidian said that they were probably going to help make Wasteland 2, so I dunno.

As of New Vegas we're already 200+ years post-apocalypse, the West is practically back to normal. I can't see Fallout 4 doing much of anything in that area. Maybe taking place in annexed Canada?
I'd actually like it if they took it out of North America entirely and set it in Europe for a change.

In the original Fallout's intro, the narrator mentions how, just before the Great War began in 2077, the Europeans were destroying themselves by breaking up into smaller nation states and endlessly fighting with one another for control over whatever bits of land and resources they could get their hands on.

For these resources, China would invade Alaska, the US would annex Canada, and the European Commonwealth would dissolve into quarreling, bickering nation-states, bent on controlling the last remaining resources on Earth.
To me, that all would make for a much more interesting game experience.

Yeah, except that wouldn't work. The reason the authentic Fallout games are set in the Southwestern America is because that's where the developers have lived and worked most if not all of their lives. They know the area. Same deal with Washington/Maryland and Bethesda.

They wouldn't release a teaser for a teaser, so it propably isn't about Fallout 4. But if it is, then everything is good.

Yeah except these areas in Fallout hardly look like in real life. You could just as well recreate these environments with some reference photos + google maps.

And besides, their primary demographic isn't going to want to play something set in Scandinavia or even the UK. The former has language barriers and the culture is generally more obscure to global audiences and the latter just isn't very exciting at all.

Europe just doesn't fit Fallout to be honest.

If the improvements they did to Gamebryo between TESIV and FO3 are anything to go by it could be quite interesting.

They lost their primary demographic after FO3. Time to get a new demographic. A good game is a good game, no matter where it's set.

Brilliant. You really represent the lowest common denominator admirably.

    EDIT:
Fallout 3 had a total of 15 voice actors, S.P.E.C.I.A.L. is broken, the writing is horrid, they turned the Brotherhood into some sort of sympathetic Robin Hood bullshit organization, V.A.T.S. is nothing like targeted shots and makes the game hilariously easy, your weapon skills make guns more powerful, all automobiles are packed with high explosives, uranium explodes when shot, super mutants, Enclave and the Brotherhood are all rehashed in a plot that reads like The Idiot's Guide to Fallout, Bethesda has zero understanding of dark humor, or any humor for that matter. And I'm not even going to touch on the engine faults.

Be realistic, please. The overwhelming majority of players loved fallout 3. The idea behind Fallout was to make a game set in a post-nuclear world that people might find fun, immersive and challenging. Not an expedition to advance the frontier of our understanding of philosophy and meta-ethics.

Did you even play Fallout 2

It wasn't exactly a serious game

And Fallout 1 and 2 had way more bugs than Fallout 3.

It was a fun game, noone ever said it was deep. Go back to NMA.

That's funny, because what I said was a direct quote from Tim Cain, one of the original creators of Fallout.

And I want you to understand that nearly half of America has an IQ of sub-100. The majority of all media consumers love shit like Michael Bay movies and Twilight aswell.

Skyrim could have a really big paragraph as to why it was shit as well you know, and both could have a really big paragraph as to why they're good

Cry about it people liked F3 boohoo. Also, you can make the game easily harder by changing the difficulty + not using vats
