So still nothing scientific except hearsay.

You can't just say "Science has been done on this"

Because then I can say "Well science has proven that the moon is made of cheese". Saying there is evidence is not the same as providing it.
The fuck do you want me to say? You can't honestly expect me to perfectly quote everything ever said on that topic.

If you want to know more, then just google "porn desensitization", if you just want to argue then do that in some other thread.

    Desensitizing also includes porn.
it includes EVERYTHING, since when you get "satisfied" by masturbating (example), the brain releases rewarding chemicals.
But the erotic content needs to be more and more extreme (so to say) to trigger it.
Just like how hardcore drug addicts needs a bigger and/or stronger dose after the last one.

Google around, there's actually a couple of articles on the Internet about it, and i'd like you to debunk it.
Still nothing scientific. Desensitizing does not include porn because it is not being used to a chemical or an image, but to an act. It's like saying that if you have sex with someone for 5 years you will want to start doing kinky shit with her. There are plenty of people who have "regular" sex their entire lives without doing anything especially "deviant".

I've almost stopped using porn when fappin'. I mostly use porn for inspiration, but during the act I use my imagination. 100 times better in terms of cummingness.

Or, you know, they would stop doing the activity that doesn't stimulate them anymore.

Also, you forget that old people often have physical(hormonal) and mental health issues which conflict with their sexuality.

Or, you know, you're just grasping at straws because you have no scientific evidence to back your asinine claims up.

I'll shut up if you find peer reviewed evidence, until then I'm convinced your just making as ass out of yourself.

    K I'll read that brb.

    Edited:

    lol took me 5 seconds.

    Conclusion:
This paper has provided an overview of the limited effects - powerful effects debate about pornography. From this presentation, it should be clear that just like debates about television violence or the effect of the mass media in general, there are no clear answers. As such, it would seem that the best conclusion one can reach about the effect of pornography is that it "does not serve as a necessary and sufficient cause of audience effects, but rather functions among and through a nexus of mediating factors and influences (Klapper, 1960)." Thus bringing us full circle, back to the limited effects conclusion that sparked pornography research in the first place.

You do know who Judith Reisman is, right?

She believes that homosexuals caused the holocaust. She is featured on WorldNetDaily, a very conservative publication.

I'm not going to say she is flatout wrong, but maybe take what she says with a grain of salt.

Also: I actually looked for scholarly reports. Besides the one that supports my claim(that was already posted a few posts back), I only found pamphlets and articles written through pornography addict support groups and churches.

    Also, on the Reisman issue:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judith_Reisman#Erototoxins
"Reisman has postulated a physical mechanism to account for the dangers she ascribes to pornography: when viewed, an addictive mixture of chemicals which she has dubbed "erototoxins," floods the brain, causing harmful influences to it. Reisman hopes that MRI studies will prove porn-induced physical brain damage and predicts lawsuits against publishers and distributors of pornography similar to those against Big Tobacco which resulted in the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement. Further, if pornography can "subvert cognition," then "these toxic media should be legally outlawed, as is all other toxic waste, and eliminated from our societal structure." Finally, individuals who have suffered brain damage from 'pornography are no longer expressing "free speech" and, for their own good, shouldn't be protected under the First Amendment.'"

Alright, I'm at work so I can't read these fully myself, but I did a little searching:

    http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/...rowing-problem
Mostly postulating. It also focuses more on ED than about desensitization. Either way, I'm looking for actual studies that have been done on the issue. Anyone can postulate.

Also, Psychology Today, no matter how scientific it may be, is a for profit publication. This means their articles need to get viewers more than they have to be factual.

Same as PT, in fact it links to it. However, one point I would like to make is that they are saying the ED is caused by overstimulation of the brain, not understimulation that would come from desensitization.

Not scientific, not does it link to anything scientific. Therefore everything in there is anecdotal or uncited.

My claim is that there isn't conclusive evidence. I make the assumption that the effects are minimal, if at all present, because of a lack of scientific evidence. I'm not saying it's not possible, but until I see real evidence, it's a bit foolish to assume it has any effect.

I suppose there are not much evidence that supports my claim but the same can be said for your side as well. You haven't provided any back up for your opinion, besides anecdotal evidence and "your anecdotal evidence doesn't count".
I don't need evidence to back up a negative. It's up to the person making a claim to provide evidence for said claim. It's called "burden of proof". And like I said, I'm not claiming anything except there is a lack of evidence.

You don't need to stop, you just need to cut down. I was in the same position as you, and cutting it down to 1-2 times a week helps a lot more than you'd think.

Humans evolved to reproduce less. A human child takes a fuck ton of energy and a whole lot of time to raise. Rapid reproduction could be fatal to a population.
