And don't get smart with me, I'm not talking out of my ass, I work with PHP every single day, and I'm on my way to become a Zend Certified Engineer at the end of the month. I don't do "spewing bullshit".
Yet you fail to engage in a calm manner. Maybe you are not spewing bullshit, because maybe you do have some points, you are simply just cutting it out in crap and not viable arguments, that is all.

Oh no yet another typo on the internet, my reputation is forever ruined.
But yes i scooped low, i assumed that this guy had air between his ears when he didn't use any arguments, saying something is shit will only put people in a defensive stance, if you say WHY it is not ideal or even outright wrong, you might have a better chance at convincing your opposite, isn't that like the point of an argument to begin with?

Like your post regarding JSON, it really made me remember why I like the design pattern of java and .net.. Stuff like this rarely happens in an enviroment like this, not without throwing an Exception, if you could even compile it at all.

the ideal world wouldn't have php exist at all, but since that's not possible, i'll settle for people not starting new projects in php and only using that foul language to maintain old projects

I am super calm, why would I be nothing but calm with a discussion about programming languages? Dude, I'm eating a fucking croissant, how can I not be calm when I'm eating a croissant?

All I'm seeing from you is complaints about me insulting or making assumptions about you, when I didn't so much as talk about you until you started feeling personally offended, yet you've called me all sorts of things in your posts (and added very little besides that, completely missing the topic of the discussion, btw).

I used arguments to defend my point, I'd link you to my posts but they're already on the previous page, you must have read them, unless you simply cherry picked more reasons to feel personally offended, which is, according to your posts, exactly what happened.

Stop trying to make this about you, I don't know you, I don't care about you, I don't care to personally insult you for your choice of programming languages. Just get back on topic.

If you're an experienced developer, you'll have no trouble picking up on enough php for your needs: maintaining legacy applications.

I am also super calm, i am eating a loaf of bread with ham and cheese. I apologize that i derailed this. I really don't care about you neither, so no hard feelings.

Believe it or not, but people still use it in development. I am not saying its ideal, but its there and some of us has to do it (Like you and me).

    On topic:

No i dont think that such a site exists. Though it would be a nice idea, maybe hook it up to a highvoltage haptics everytime you did something idiotic but PHPerfectly legal.

If that's is an argument for PHP being a good language then it's horribly flawed.

PHP is a terrible first language anyway. It'll take you a long time to undo the damage it will do.

I'm pretty sure you can't write a lick of ~decent~ PHP code, just a couple months ago you were running around asking for help with some of the worst code I've seen on this section. What's a "sack worth of money" for you? $100? $200? One of the PHP projects I work with recently got a ~$20 million dollar investment. I make a shit load of money working with PHP, I still think it's a horrible language, and you're deluded if you think otherwise.

COBOL and FORTRAN programmers are now in the upper 10% of salaries for programmers. Why? Because no one wants to fucking mess with the legacy shit that's built in those languages.

Money means nothing when talking about how good a language is.

There are so much competition with PHP that it's not even worth learning if you want a job later on.

    Edited:

The only reason why I use PHP is because I don't know anything better. And I've tried to learn Python & ruby but I didn't have fun learning it as PHP.
Simply not true I work for a company worth a decent amount in a team of 4 backend developers. I had a tough interview process but got through the door.

If you've got the dedication and passion to learn that's simply not true. I think if PHP is your ONLY language you know then you're stuffed but if you make the attempt to learn other languages and the benefits / disadvantages of them, then you stand just as much chance as any graduate in this field.
