Glad to see our tax payer money being put to good use.
Sometimes I wished an F-18 would crash into my school as a kid.
I've seen a Chinook pass near my school once. I don't know why it was there, but I swear that it had it's guns attached.
I can see the smoke rising from the crash I live right near it, wondered what that boom was
Finally something interesting happens in my city
Glad to hear the pilots made it out okay.
I wonder what caused it to go down
Yeah they meant to crash it, it's a new government program.
I'm sure all those kids have many stories to tell now.
To inspire kids to join the military.
the navy told wavy
Probably some technical difficulties, maybe birdstrike or a flameout of the engine.
Pilot 1: "You know what would be fun?"
Pilot 2: "No, what?"
Pilot 1: "We should crash the plane, no work tomorrow"
Pilot 2: "Solid plan, what about this residence area?"
Pilot 1: "Lets do it!"
Pilot 2: "Extra points for not hitting the minigolf course and the school"
Neither should takeout an F-18. Twin engines. They can and have sustained damage to one engine and flown back using only the other in combat sorties. It is why most fighter aircraft strive to have twin engines.
Fuck, I was about to post this, its all over the news here.
Also, please stop posting Gutsani.
It crashed between an elementary school and an animal rescue facility.
It's like the worst was meant to happen but didn't
When you say "strive", it makes it sound like twin engines are achieved through rigorous training and exercise of single-engined aircraft
Edited:
And then they just grow the second engine.
Must have been terrifying.
Take some footy
Like super saiyan
Haha, yeah it was poor word choice.
The designers attempt to include it in the budget? Maybe that is better.
The F-16 Falcon is a good budget multirole fighter, but it has always been criticized for having a single engine. It has lost a few contracts for use overseas with that cited as being one of the reasons.
The majority of the rest of our current F series aircraft use twin engines. F-18 included.
F-18 crashes into my school.
I'm like:
What
Awesome!
No wait
@ work
Oh god, I wonder if some kid feels terrible or like God after making that wish at that school.
Are you stupid?
I'd have felt pretty bad.
But I went to school near moffet field back when the blue angels still practiced over urban areas. They were the only F-18's that passed over, so I guess it would have been a different sort of F-18 crash if it happened to me. :P
They fly over here all the time in flights of three, sometimes with Kiowas flying escort.
I remember when primary school was boring, I'd sometimes wish that the school would burn down so we didn't have to go anymore.
So, when half the school did actually burn down, school wasn't cancelled, but we all had to be crammed into a shitty little gym and it was infinitely worse than before. Basically, don't ever wish for crap like that to happen because it probably will happen at some point! I learnt the hard way.
What the fuck does that even have to do with this thread?
A plane crashed and you blame the government without any knowledge on the event whatsoever. Not even caring whether people have died or not.
I was leaving the navy exchange in Norfolk when I saw two FA-18s landing at the airstrip just across the street. They were landing fast, pulling a very tight turn and lowering their gear. A few minutes later, I heard about this on the radio. It seems like they're landing the training flights.
Holy crap. That's really tragic, but DAMN the wreckage looks badass.
Pffft that was because it was some pussy fire.
JP8 Jet fuel gets the job done in HALF the time with twice the damage! Also it causes cancer! Carcinogens for everyone!
Also do you think the insurance protecting that apartment building covers getting crashed into by an F-18? Or does that constitute an act of god? :P
F16's are serviced right next to my school, about 2-3 times a week they take off, and interrupt our class. It's fun!
It's pretty fortunate that no one got hurt, except one woman. (Read in a paper that a woman was taken to the hospital)
The buildings that burned down actually had asbestos in them. Hooray for cancer!
A plane almost crashed into my primary school once, the engines failed or something, luckily the pilot stayed in a guided it over all the villages and my school before crashing it into a river.
He got a medal for it.
Maybe he's talking about all the Firefighters putting out the fires and Policemen securing the area..![]()
Still no info on the cause of the crash?
Holy shit! That thing is big, just look at the size of those rear-wings!
Oh hello there nice to see you mr ejection seat
According to CNN, a pilot with cuts all over his face, parachute hanging from a building kept on saying
