Except they published and made all kinds of amazing profitable titles. Other than that, they'll totally go under!
So much for hopes of Homeworld 3
I hope this isn't true, THQ are one of the few publishers I don't mind.
Not before Dawn of War 3 they don't.
I wasn't looking forward for Saints Row 4 either way to be honest, SRTT just didn't feel like Saints Row 2 at all which just half-heartedly ruined the feel of the game for me
A shame to hear this though, they've made so many other great titles
I'll never forgive THQ for interfering with STALKER so much.
Don't you dare, I want Metro: Last Light
i don't believe it
too many good games to go under
I don't want to believe it, but Red Faction Armageddon is to blame if it is true. If I've heard correctly, it was their biggest failure. But that doesn't mean titles like CoH or Saints Row won't be picked up by another publisher, right?
quickly buy more of their games so he lives!!
I absolutely loved the 3D space fighting with handpicked mixed squads and atmosphere especially the beginning of HW1 built up. A shame the replacement enemy in HW2 just kinda comes out of nowhere, wrecks even the most OP race in the galaxy without much explanation and is then swiftly defeated by a ridiculously overpowered Deus Ex Machina, and part of the micromanagement I liked was stripped without any option to go back to the old system.
Hopefully, if a third game comes out, it'll be about something creepy like the Ghost Ship or Beast. Tho the latter almost went over the top for me in terms of weirdness. But it did a great job as a credible threat imo, since the Taiidan and Turians suffered a lot of losses in the last game.
Sucks that people are losing jobs. But most of the games they've released recently.. Aren't that very well done.
THQ stock, now just 50 cents each!
THQ will be fine after darksiders 2.
And now you realize why they are throwing tons of sr3 dlc all over the place
The chances of Homeworld 3 happening in the next 5 years are slim to none. It's sad, considering the series continues to have a loyal following.
Almost all good THQ games were created by Relic. If THQ goes down, I'm sure Relic will live on, someone will buy them. Hopefully, it won't be EA.
I enjoy the UFC games... I just hope ThQ release a few more.. before bowing out.
Red Faction, the 1998 game, was my favorite in the world, and introduced me to FPS'S. When I was 6, I'd come home very day and play it. It was just so amazing. THQ has always been a publisher I loved for that. Red Faction original IMO is the best Red Faction.
Goodbye, Homeworld. :<
Too bad. Rather have another die off...
Always liked THQ. It's just one of those names that you see anywhere and it feels totally OK. I mean, most of us likely grew up to some degree playing all of the big-name THQ titles, so this really feels like a kick to the guts to see them go.
Wish they'd caught on sooner and had a chance to really change this outcome, but from what I've read, management really got in the way and screwed the pooch for all the hard workers in the company. Such a shame.
I don't think "Oh fuck, published by EA" and I don't think "Aww yeah, published by valve!" I just kind of think "THQ's alright by me."
Subsidiary Studios of THQ:
Relic Entertainment in Vancouver, BC, founded in May 1997, acquired in May 2004.
THQ Studio San Diego in San Diego, California, acquired from Midway Games in August 2009.
Vigil Games in Austin, Texas, founded in 2005, acquired in 2006.
Volition in Champaign, Illinois, founded in November 1996, acquired in September 2000.
THQ Studio Montreal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, founded in October 2010 is THQ's first North
So yup. When THQ goes down, Most likely Relic and Volition will too.
