Sounds like EVE-Online just a way more unprofessional.
Players can create viruses? Can we make AVG in this?
Possible monthly fees for multiplayer? Fuck that.
Should name the game "&e0" instead.
I feel like this game is only going to suck because there's going to be that ONE asshole that makes a virus that's unstoppable and fucks everyone over.
This is beginning to sound like a game like Space Station 13
So it's my kind of game.
I really don't like this.
EDIT: I mean it sounds cool as fuck, but monthly fees are massive no.
Best way to do this? Give out the server software like minecraft and use them all to do their computer and physics emulating.
buncha babbies in here i'm glad i won't be seeing online if this pans out
It killed everyone infected after x time, even NPCs.
Its a bullshit move. Unless its a major MMO then I should only pay once.
Monthly fee? Bullshit.
First you release a completely unfinished game for 30 bucks, NOW you're thinking about tacking monthly fees onto something.
Program minecraft for this game, play minecraft while playing 0x10c.
I am saying that most major MMOs (WoW, SW:TOR...) have hours and hours and hours and hours of game content before you reach an endgame.
This game may not even have a story. It could just be flying around your ship and doing ship things that spaceships do...
He said that notch takes about 6 months to patch anything because he takes vacations inbetween his vacations.
People do not have a lot of confident about Notch pulling this off and making it worth the price. The idea however sounds cool.
No trust for notch, he's a lazy bastard.
I'm actually glad people arn't hyping over this game, that means notch has the upper hand in surprising everyone with a really good game.
There are other games like this which you do not have to pay.
This could work on a free to play model where more ram or storage will have to cost you per month.
Also I do not feel 1000 words for ram works for me, no sign of interrupts, or kernal code to trap handle certain instructions. Virtual memory might be too good if included, but I'de rather sick to robot based games that use virtual cpus then a space one that won't allow me the crude RTOS I want to handle a virus or many tasks.
I'll save comments about any sort of monthly fee until there's some solid gameplay and reviews out there but the concept is intriguing. I'm really interested to see how this turns out.
Shame about the monthly fee, it sounds fun. I'll definitely check it out anyways, might be cheap/worth it
Notch has already said on twitter that he regrets the science fiction setting. I don't see this getting far to be honest.
The idea sounds really neat, but knowing notch half of it won't be implemented in the game until someone else from mojang starts working on it, and the other half will suck.
I like the concept. I don't expect it to deliver though.
Well considering Infinity is still chugging along: http://www.infinity-universe.com/Inf...=118&Itemid=26
I guess I'll still be waiting for that to scratch my nerd-itch.
He should really try and focus on a single game for more than a couple months. I'm not sure if he's expecting everything he makes to be an overnight sensation like Minecraft then gets frustrated when it doesn't, but he needs to learn that not everything he touches turns to gold.
Dumb name and dumb idea.
People whine about Notch so often.
it would be cool if the fat piece of shit notch actually made a game worthwhile minecraft sucks the people defend it as a side effect of buyers remorse you cant do shit half of the cool things are unprogrammed this POS dev. makes indie games worse than they are already.
