From what I've seen, stuns and disables all seem really effective against Ursa due to his lack of ranged abilities.

Also a good counter to Lycan/Ursa is Beastmaster. Against Ursa for his boars slow attack and against both Ursa and Lycan for his amazing 4 second stun that goes through BKB. Force them into using their BKBs alot, when they are up to 5 seconds, they will only have 1 second of magic inmunity after you roar them.
Beastmaster may or may not be the best counter to Lycan ever, tanky support that can afford to be the ward bitch to prevent Lycan from jungling early game, and as you said, Roar is amazingly good against him.

I remember that time when I had 4 more levels than Lycan as Beastmaster because I afforded to ward his jungle.

    Edited:

Also some friend started Dota recently, he said his game was glitched because Weaver could Time Lapse out of Frost Bite. vv

Steroid ultimate, good disable, strenght hero, Cleave for natural farm and boost to armor/ms.
I see some carry in here, but how about Hero who can have mini-hero with entangle and chooses not to for abilities that affect both Hero and mini-hero if he is present ?

It's not really that easy to counter him like you guys say it, you have to consider that he has teammates and they have disables as well.

You also have to consider that a well farmed Ursa can get a fast blink dagger or BKB so the only thing countering him is getting a Ghost Scepter, Eul's, Force Staff. And if they have a good initiator like Tide then Ursa can just sit behind the team, wait for the initiation and blink in or just walk in and kill somebody in seconds.

Also, free Roshan for him every 10 minutes. I remember a competitive game where one team picked Ursa, farmed him up, and when they pushed the whole team had to throw everything at the Ursa just to stop him from killing everyone, with them having no disables the 4 other guys just won every teamfight and killed the ancient.

How many Heroes are there in Dota, like about a 100?

Anyway I'm thinking since the development is housed by Valve, it would be fun if Dota2 got a couple of new heros like Combine Advisor or the Vortigaunt for the complete release hero roster.

Or would it totally ruin everything?

Countering Ursa is about three things...

    1) Early lane abuse. He is melee. He can't use a Quelling Blade. Hurt him in lane. Delay that Vlad's as long as possible.
    2) Keeping an eye on Roshan. Ward it. Keep it warded. If you even think he is going to walk into that direction, stand on your ramp and wait for him to walk by.
    3) Kiting/disabling. A smart Ursa will get a BKB. How do you counter this? Heroes with physical spells. Dazzle, Beastmaster and Pudge all come to mind because they can stun/slow people who are still magic immune. A well played Viper or Drow will never let Ursa get close.

Just slap a blademail on a competent Axe and Ursa will literally kill himself. This actually works extremely well against most any carry; Axe will almost surely have more health and if you force them to attack you while they're fed they'll finish themselves off pretty fast.

This doesn't work as well as you think. Axe is a bad character with a low range taunt that puts him in the exact place you don't want to be: melee range. Ursa has a higher natural health gain than him too. If Ursa has a BKB, which he should, Axe does nothing. That's why I said heroes like Dazzle, Beastmaster, etc. They have physical disables with good range.

    - Lina: Fixed Dragon Slave's cast range being too short.
    - Lone Druid: Added a visual effect at the Spirit Bear's old location when it's recast.
    - Lone Druid: Fixed a bug when Spirit Bear would disassemble an item, causing it to have no owner.
    - Nightstalker: Added duration buff for Darkness.
    - Pudge: Fixed Dismember damage happening one second too late.
    - Spirit Breaker: Fixed case where he could get stuck when using Nether Strike.
    - Viper: Fixed Corrosive Skin affecting Serpent Wards.
    - Fixed being able to deny yourself (while under poison) if you attack through the hero icon at the top.
    - Fixed Linken Sphere proccing for secondary hits of Chain Lightning and Lightning Storm.
    - Fixed Magic Immunity removing Poison Attack debuff.
    - Fixed hero deaths not disjointing incoming projectiles (in the case of fast respawns/buyback).
    - Fixed bug that was causing attack projectiles to be slightly out of sync with the server.
    - Fixed units not always respecting the ability backswing time (without animation canceling), causing animations to sometimes end faster than normal.

    UI
    - Fixed creepstats not being visible to spectators.

    VISUALS
    - Updated Nevermore's Requiem of Souls.
    - Added an effect for Nevermore's Necromastery.

    DOTA 2 BOTS
    - Bots will now use couriers.
    - While there are any disconnected humans on the opposing team, bots will now select the most appropriate corresponding hero or heroes on their team to go back to the fountain to try to keep teams somewhat balanced.
    - Bots will no longer forget about heroes they're trying to kill when they go invulnerable.
    - Changed how bots think about attacking wards/minions, they should behave more reasonably now.
    - When bots defend a tower, they should now be more aggressive about transitioning into attacking, rather than milling around behind the tower.
    - Mid bots are now less likely to roam at early levels.
    - Fixed bug that was causing Zeus to killsteal (too much) with his Ult.
    - Earthshaker bot will no longer use Echo Slam to kill a lone hero unless that hero is a hard carry.
    - Earthshaker bot will no longer use Echo Slam on a target that it thinks is about to die anyways.
    - Windrunner bot will now buy Mekansm rather than Blademail.
    - Fixed bug that could cause poorly-aimed fissures and powershots.
    - Windrunner bot will now use Powershot when pushing/defending a lane, and sometimes to harass/last-hit while laning.
    - Fixed bug where Kunkka bot would freeze when trying to kill a non-hero target.
    - Fixed bug where Dire bots would respond to pings from spectators.

So will Dota 2 (not Test) be updated with this tomorrow? I know initially it was supposed to be that Dota 2 Test was updated, then the week after Dota 2 is updated, but haven't both Lycan and Lone Druid been added directly to Dota 2?
