probably the first space-to-Earth weapon we will have, uses 20-foot long 2-foot wide tungsten rods to hit with the force of a nuclear explosion.

No, it doesn't really qualify as a WMD, even though it could destroy cities, ironic but it doesn't use atomic, chemical, or biological characteristics.
Someone's gonna break the treaty anyway.

I saw the moon finally through my scope, its really pretty at any magnification
the clouds acted as a moon filter so it came out nice at 75x
I don't have any camera mounts or anything

I'm majorin' in Aerospace engin, but as of now, I'm in aeronautical emphasis, not astronautical, but space is amazing, so I'm thinking of switching over. Just looking at some of these images is inspiring...

Guys, I'm really starting to regret switching out of Aerospace.
I can't tell what I want to do, and if I switch back that's another year of college.

I'm in Aerospace Eng as well, it's a lot of fun, it's definitely worth it not only for the fun of the study, but also knowing that with high marks, decent personal skills, and lots of experience, you can actually work at a place like Planetary Resources/somewhere similar.

I quite like the idea of self-sufficient space colonies, perhaps it could be put to use there ?
What happened to the space elevator idea, though ? Are they still looking for a material light and robust enough to support its own weight ?

SpaceX will do a static fire test on April 30th, and they will livestream it.
The webcast, available at spacex.com, is set to begin at 2:30 PM ET/ 11:30 AM PT, with the actual static fire targeted for 3:00 PM ET/ 12:00 PM PT.

Yes.
And a Falcon Heavy launch test is planned for late 2013 or early 2014.
In between there's a lot of cargo missions to the ISS and some other stuff.

The Dragon is the capsule which is launched with the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launch vehicles.

The XX is basically the big ben with boosters strapped to the bottom.

Do they actually have a timeline for anything bigger than the Falcon Heavy or are they just drawings of future ideas that might not even happen.

I suppose they need the money from successful ISS launches to really get anything bigger yet.

As far as I know there are no solid plans for the Falcon X vehicles yet.
