Christ, I amaze myself with my ignorance sometimes. How do you make overheating weapons not overheat at level 4? Change the "applies to primary" flags? Edit something in the weapon definition? Crank the cooldown on that upgrade?
Or just set Percent_Increase_Per_Shot to 0 and the overheat bar never shows up to begin with.

So I was looking at the game files and noticed that there were three extra homies that you don't have access to normally. A bit of modifying the files allowed me to try the out.
First was the Taxi:
Modified it a bit so it somewhat functions like Wheel Woman from the original Saints Row.
It doesn't really work. Half time time the driver drives halfway to you then turns around and drives away. Other times, it'll just kick you out of the vehicle
. 9/10 attempts were either him driving away or kicking me out when I got in.
And the driver is slow as fuck.
Second was the Ambulance:
An EMT comes buy and just heals you. I don't know if it actually works though because my health was full.
Last was a Weapons Dealer:
Description implies it randomizes your weapons, but nothing happened to mine. A random gang member just drove up to me and brought a SWAT truck. No idea why the face is Zimos. Also odd is the fact that the description has "CUT" in it.
In case anybody was wondering, I added the homies to the list as opposed to replacing current ones.

So the taxi homie brings up the phone menu, and you're supposed to select a location on the map, so the taxi will drive you there. Why I didn't figure that out last night is beyond me.
Except any location chosen will show this.
$4 million and I can't go anywhere.

Taxis are something that a few of us took a look at a couple of months ago. We came to the conclusion that it was calling a function that was hardcoded in the exe that we couldn't mess with. I thought so. I couldn't find any sort of files that reference a taxi service of any sort.
On the plus, I can add new homies without any issues (that I've found).

It has no animations except for getting in & out of cars.

The animations are probably special ones that load at the start of http://deckers.die and not part of preload. It's the same deal as the pony cart anims.

I found a curiously placed copy of Saints Row 2 in my Steam list (I didnt buy it at all, and I dont know anyone who also uses my computer so...) my guess is that its the material for the old "Initiation Station" thing the devs did (allow you to make your character for free before SR2 is released), I didnt even touch it yet so I dont know if its a working copy or just a preload.

I would never be such a pretentious douchebag and come down on people having fun with my mods. In fact, I actually feel the opposite. I think it's really cool when stuff like screenshots and vids are released. It's a warm fuzzy that people are having fun with something I did.
Also, thanks for linking my site in the description. In addition to being considerate, it also makes it easier for other players to find my mods. :)

Found this on the forums. Do the base jumping diversion and the truck that arrives will have random saints in it, with a chance of spawning a gangstas in space homie.

just picked this up, late as hell and ive been playing co-op with a friend.
holy shit seriously goty. im fighting animes and luchadores and hos with autotune pimp and i ride a tron bike. seriously never played a game this good and fun in such a long time.

Idol, I found a bug with your deathball mod. It's invisible in the cutscene where you jump on it, then after this happens.
When Oleg releases the ball you just stay in the same spot and can't do anything.

I kind of figured there would be bizarre wonky shit happening with that mission since it's a plane now. I'll add a note to the known issues file.

How does such a machine work?
Is it a suit or something?

Turk modified the deckers.die mission script so it does the morph, gives you the sword, and teleports you out into the city giving you free reign to terrorize. It's setup as an optional mod in GoS and works in conjunction with the mission replay mod (it only does it on replay.)
Gibbed also finally got around to fixing preload packing, so stuff like this involving special animations and meshes will soon be usable outside of missions. I was testing the pony cart earlier which is now working with correct animations:

Man it must suck being a console player, the vanilla Saints Row really gets boring after you finish the story and all that.
It was one of my main reasons to get it on PC, modders really are to thank for a lot of PC purchases with most games now.

I couldn't get it on PC because I was very certain my computer wouldn't be able to run it well.
When I get a new computer, I'll definitely pick it up for PC then.

If I have Saints Row for the PS3, and I have bought one or two dlcs for it, would it be possible to get those DLCS on Steam if I buy it for that too?

Can I buy it from the Xbox Marketplace when I'm at the dashboard or do I have to buy it while I'm in the game?

You have to acquire the DLC from the ingame menu if you have the Season Pass.
