These shapes, contours and colours are pleasant. Composition is nice and thoughtful.

How's this for a badly treated negative?

I can't answer for him, but I made one out of a door peephole. Its kinda like a souvenir, I bought it from a coffee shop in portland for three bucks.

I just sawed down the peep hole threading a bit, and then screwed it onto a paper clip, and then duck-taped the paper clip to my lomo lc-a. Works like a charm

Similar thing for me, except I used an old lens from the 70's I picked up cheap from the fair (no idea what camera it was originally for), sawed it in half then sticky-taped it to the front of my old shitty 18-55 kit lens that came with my D50.

Can someone please explain the technique of these "Float" pictures, i love every single one of them and It would be cool to try my own.

    Edited:

composition could probably show a bit more of her face. Lovely lighting down to the screen's light on her thumb.
It was very difficult shooting in my room, it's pretty cramped and I was sing a fifty, plus, she always got embarrassed when she noticed me taking a picture and made silly faces, but she did get an okay one of me, which i shall post later.

    C&C?

    Warning: Blogpunch
Hi everyone, about the last time I posted I was frantically trying to save my relationship, I wasn't successful. The person above is probably the closest friend I have right now, after my girlfriend dumped me she was right there to pick up the pieces even if it meant putting her own relationship in jeopardy. And yet she wants nothing in return. I snapped this while I was experimenting with Magic Lantern, without her consent or else she surely would have never let me take a photo of her. (She hates how she usually looks in them.)

I think it's a three stage process, one of the background, then one of the subject supported by something and then you photoshop the two together.

I had guessed that much, I saw a really cool photograph of a guy going into the wind, with his son clinging onto his back. It was done in a similar manner, he put him across to chairs i think. Love the photo of your friend. Also, I feel for you bro, have a heart.

Also, is that a sony tv you have there by any chance?

Could someone post there original images in a sequence to show how it's done?

set your camera to manual to avoid exposure changes
shoot jpeg to make editing easier

take two photos, one of you on your support and one with you and the support removed IN THE SAME POSITION.
    gotta use a tripod

    straight out of camera there

quick mask yourself without your supporting brace then paste into your original photo, play with burning for realistic shadows and hopefully it comes out well

    Edited:

flatten when you're happy and then play with curves and exposure etc

    Awesome! Thanks for that!

Personally I think I'll stick to RAW, i hate working with JPEGs. Also, by quick mask do you mean use the magic wand/quick select tool? Or am I missing something?

I always shoot RAW. Just process them (all the same) first then do whatever you're going to do with them (brenizer, levitation, etc.)

Once you process is that into jpeg?

Also, I've still never taken and processed a raw image. I didn't realise photoshop had a preview (with processing sliders) function until I was over at BlazeFresh's place.

Focus is spot on. Editing is good.
Like you said before, posing isn't the best, but I'm sure with practice you can nail something you feel comfortable with.
Only thing is focus on those leading lines in the rest of your frame. I can see the potential in the background.

Also, bopie, I love those leaves in the foreground.

Correct. I don't mind JPG compression (it's minimal anyway), it's just getting the exposure and color data out of the RAW's that I'm concerned about.

Damn looked like an old sony I just gave away, to the guy i went out with the other day. IT was a bloody amazing tv, colour was perfect and image quality was the best ive ever seen. He moved into a new house and i needed more space in my room, and there was a 40" TV not getting used downstairs.

Man I loved that tv. Glad it went to a good home.

Looks good with the symmetry and the lighting on you.., except for the fact that the floor is in a lot of darkness, so it's difficult to tell that you're floating; which defeats the purpose.

i shoot jpg because with an EVF you can check what your picture is going to look like right there and then, and if i want to make adjustments to WB i do it in camera. and i got pretty good at using the color balance sliders in CS5 to make images how i want anyways, i've never edited a raw picture.
