Oh I see, maybe where I was going wrong. Humm.
The way I see it, Grenade Launcher is for turning a room into an explosive hell (needs to be at least upgraded to the +1 clip size), and the Arx Buster is for more careful burst damage. That being said, the Grenade Launcher takes down Generators and things far faster than the Buster due to it's larger clip size and very similar damage.
Raiders fits their name perfectly, they are great at raiding bases but they are bad at duelling outside. Also the ARX Burster deals a very good burst but has lower splash while the grenade launcher has a more solid dps and larger splash, both are good.

Just smash the arx burster shots into someone's face, no care as a raider.
I think his suggestion is less encouraging long-range baserape, and more strongly discouraging short-ranged indoors combat with the mortar so that long range is all that works. Having light turrets intercept projectiles, though, would be an interesting addition and would make turrets useful for outdoors.

I like that suggestion, as it would give people a reason to destroy turrets as Sentinel.

Also, here's an idea for a doombringer secondary - A RRFE launcher. (Random Rockets Fired Erratically)
Basically, lock on to a guy like the sabre launcher.
When it fires, it explodes midair, releasing 5 rockets. One rocket hits the locked on target, while the other rockets lock on to other targets nearby. If none are present, all 5 rockets home in on the same target. It also fires a bit faster, locks on quicker and has more ammo.
The catch?
The 5 missles added together does less damage than one sabre missle. The missles are also pretty likley to crash and/or miss.

Dooms should have an airgun. That would be really fun, being able to literally just have a giant leafblower to keep those pesky pathfinders away from the flag. Alternatively it could spew flames.
As a possibility to replace the saber launcher? It sets people on fire for a short time and pushes them away depending on mass?
Giant leafblower > actual gun
Flamer? More like a fucking huge blowtorch gun, effective against everything, but has a very limited range.

Leafblower should also work on projectiles. It'd be the only means of defense against Juggernauts.

Almost as cool as my drawing, and it's a neat idea.
It was more of a joke idea but here we are seriously considering how it would actually make a lot of sense.
Being able to charge up an air gust would also make sense, and you could hear it sucking up the air from a distance, giving you a warning of some intense blowing action to come. ;D
EDIT: Also if you don't have the superheavy, perhaps a high charged shot would also push the doomie backwards a little bit? That would be bad for flag sitters, but a doomie on the move could use it to his advantage.

This is for genny/indoor fighting only. Expect to get raped when outdoors if you can't use the SMG properly. Which I know I can't I'm a wiz with exposives but lasers aren't my strong suit.
The main wep depends mostly on your playstyle, both are great. As for the pack use shield pack unless you have serious problems with infiltrators coming out from stealth, otherwise Survivalist is a must, potential energy supposedly works too.
I would go with ego because at max rank you will be immune to your own EMPs, but potential energy is also good because you can recycle that energy into your shieldpack. Which helps during the fight. Really, survivalist works too. It's all up to your own playstyle, in the end.
Arx, Shield, EMP nade, Looter and Survivalist.
You wreck bases. ARX and Shield pack means you can "disc" jump for 0 hp when your good with it. You can also spam EMP nades like no tomorrow.
ARX is awesome once you get the lead and arc down, there is very little arc on it compared to thumper and bolt launcher.

juggerspam is troublesome, but in T2, his mortar was basically a "KILL EERYTHUNG" device. While a weapon of that standing should give you serious food for though, hows about this.
Shooting the mortar projectile disarms it.
A reward for fast thinking, Juggerspam is still useful, but can be countered.
Of course this leads to certain risks, with an explosive weapon you may harm thyself. Or you may miss and not have time to flee. To help facilitate this mechanic you just increase the mortar detonation time a wee bit.
I love the new map, capping with Jugger is really easy in that map thanks to that semi-loop on the base and the amounts of speed you get. Pick up huge amounts of speed, go in from the top of the semi-loop, use the Spinfusor to clear the flag of any enemies and since I'm heavy I can suck up any damage from any shields and turrets placed.
There are never enough inventory stations!

The great thing with survival is when it's fully upgrades and you butcher a dirty sandraker you take his heart and then you're ready to slaughter another. I also forgot to mention that safety third as a prim perk is great, 3-4 nades instagibs the generator, giving you a quick in and out strike.
I need to get me some VIP status in this game. Gotta get dat MERV launcher for juggie to increase my enemy base pooping tenfold.
