Just played a 80 minute game, (Lost. only just though, we were attacking their ancient as they were on ours) and had loads of fun. I'm loving this game so far.
will they add rewards for winning, anyway?
well, maybe an in-game currency like in other mobas?
it feels sort of meh, playing for absolutely nothing (after some time of playing, of course, I don't get bored that fast)
then go play another game?
congratulations you're completely missing my point
do you really not feel good when you notice youre improving?
also, on giving up, if added it should be 5 votes to pass after 30mins in
I do feel good when I'm improving, that's not what I meant.
Let's take my experience with CoD 4 as an example:
I played for at least 300 hours, unlocking every weapon and having lots of fun. Eventually, I got really good at the game, and I was mostly playing for the weapons that I had not unlocked, and I stopped playing it when I finished doing that.
It's not that I don't like playing solely for improving my own skills, but I think that some "motivation" wouldn't hurt.
(before you go full "hurr durr call of duty kid on me, I played it when I was 12)
if you need motivation to continue playing a video game then that's pretty sad.
As far as I'm concerned, you need motivation for everything
Call of Duty - turning this generation of gamers into loot/reward whores. If you cannot play a game simply to enjoy it you really need to take a break and get some fresh air Zukriuchen.
also, are the consequences for leaving a match yet?
I know you get abandonment score, but.. does that stop you from joining games or...?
If you leave enough games you will be placed into low priority pool. Ive seen pictures of queue times being in the hours to find a match. I believe it's only temporary(like 24, 48, etc.. hours).
I really have no idea what you guys understand by motivation. I only used in-game currency/weapons as examples, anything else could serve as a tool for helping you improve
People are motivated in different ways. Personally I enjoy the feeling of just winning matches. The bitterness of losing makes winning so much more rewarding as well. I can see I'm getting better when I play, I don't need to look at stats to see that.
I understand your point that eventually you'll master everything and not feel joy from doing the same thing over and over again with no reward. But I don't think anyone will completely master all of Dota within any short amount of time. I've seen players who have played for years say they still learn new things from time to time. And don't forget that there will most likely be more heroes after the current Dota 1 pool, and probably even maps/gamemodes (from both valve and the community) throughout the coming years. So I don't think getting bored of learning the game will be a problem for a very long time.
Can Clinkz use death pact on an infernal?
Play with friends. It's way more fun that way.
Are they doing the hexed with the character's item on purpose?
This is glitched?
no it's like that on purpose
Lost a 3vs5 because my team was stupid enough to underestimate the power of 3. At the end to the game, they were to well fed that there was no stopping them.
Atleast I got to test out Death Prophet and find another fun hero to play.
I think it's glitched. The ones where it's glitched are the characters who are split into different MDLs. Windrunner's head is completely seperate to her body, same with Clinkz.
Tangoes, Quelling blade, soul ring recipe, 3 branches
Boots, Wand, Midas, Soul ring asap.
Armlet, BKB, then occasional items. Good ones are heart, AC, Rapier and MKB.
desolator for 1k crits
bkb isnt needed, but if they have a lot of disables (invoker, rhasta etc) then you should get it
otherwise no, because you're supposed to be the one that they burn all their abilities on and then die from your team
How rare are dota 2 keys now? I'm trying to pick one up for a friend (An avid dota fan) that didn't get one.
When can we expect the Dota 2 EU invites to be delivered?
