    Gave the map I'm making to a friend so we were running around breaking stuff, was quite fun. Took a couple shots.




    I do have an issue though. Whenever I start the map, everything is like this, until I alt tab out and back in. Then it's normal. Any idea why?

    Edit: Wait I didn't even put any env_cubemap stuff on the map yet. Is that why this is happening?

    When people say build cubemaps, they mean add cubemaps then type build cubemaps in console. Otherwise it will mess up lighting on a whole manner of things.

    The building is a tad bland and the forest looks odd, but the indoor lighting is spot on.

    What's the best way to add rocks (for rock crawling in Garry's Mod) to a map without using the HL2 props? I've tried making displacements for rocks but it just looks horrible.

    As I said, I stopped and maybe will never continue working on the map and i know there is a lot of stuff that needs to be fixed, just wanted too show where i stopped.
    though, i would like to read more opinions.

    lol yea it started from that i tried to make bf3 look alike metro, and then i thought about making a playable map and got pwnd by hammer.

    It'll only make a difference if the lightmap scale on the ground is small enough compared to the width of the blocklight brushes.

    Also, your map's lighting is rather bland.
