before i do, why do you want to replace the spring. Terrible terrible things can happen by putting a new spring in

Thinking of getting a VFC SCAR-L....
How good is it on a scale of 1-10
I know you can't go wrong with a vfc, but with any company, there is always that one gun that sucks.

my friends VFC scar h has had nothing but problems, his motor fucked up, his gears all jammed, the wire harness was shot too. But I've heard VFC is pretty good, I think he just got a lemon. Go ahead I guess.

no im serious if you have a screw that just wont unscrew or is stripped, jb weld it to the screwdriver.

only let it cure for like 15 minutes or whatever then scrape it off.

Hm. I'm considering converting to the master Rossia gun race from evil socialist black rifle.

I do quite like skeleton folding stocks. So something along those lines would help, and something under $200.

9.6 stick fits, it weighs about 6 or so pounds, it should work with real steel handguards.

    Edited:

The other option is a Dboys, which already comes with the wood for about the same price, but I have no experience with them.

It takes a while, probably 4-5 on the last thing I ordered, also no processing on the weekends in customs it seems.
Also, sometimes they don't update the status after it leaves customs and it just shows up before you know it.

I don't think anyone here has ever used one, so I'd just google it up and check detailed reviews on other forums. Short reviews on retailer sites can be handy too.

Note that I said handy, not valuable.
And most of the people that write reviews for expensive guns actually write them properly.

Oh hey look some half decent reviews:

VFC is a high quality out of the box company. Any major upgrades requires you to replace a lot.

The reason VFC runs so well is because they use self shimming gears. This allows mass production of halfway shimmed guns. Same for KWA but they do it a little better. Still generally if you replace anything you end up having to replace their funny gears for a proper shimjob
Also KWA motors are hilarious and dont like anything but KWA gears without modifications, not sure if it's the same for VFC.

    Otherwise VFC is solid.

CM040 is an AKS-74, so I'm not sure what you mean by wooden magazines. There's bakelite if that's what you're after. I just got some black CYMA midcaps that hold ~120 rounds reliably and do the job. Personally I'm very happy with my CM040, and I know several other people here are too.

9.6V stick batteries fit fine, I don't know if there's a wood body kit for it.

Keep in mind though that airsoft "bakelite" mags look nothing like real bakelite.
