Getting hyped for New Vegas, I ordered it yesterday for a fiver. Is the world size smaller than Fallout 3? Oh and is Energy Weapons a viable choice over Guns?
It's bigger in some respects. A lot more to do. And a lot more dialogue (Something like 65k compared to Fallout 3's 45k)

And energy weapons are better. But not until the late game if you ask me. better to train guns first.

There's more quests and they're generally more interesting and fun to do, but most of the map is just a desert so don't expect exploration to be as fun as it was in Fo3.

Also energy weapons are pretty good but better to use later in the game.

the one downfall of FO3 was that it was too easy, I think we can all agree on that

critical multipliers could be added up to reach above 50%, and VATS made you invulnerable (basically) along with how you get one perk per level and you basically become a superhuman tank

I would've preferred it where if you're a high level, you can take a bit more damage, but you rely more on your experience, tactics and perks to gain the edge over your enemy rather than...

    LEVEL UP GAIN MORE HEALTH!!!

    NEW VEGAS

so, did anyone else feel that mr.house was pretty much right in every regard of his beliefs concerning vegas and the factions?
I think he was right, but I couldn't muster up the will to destroy the brotherhood because it just made the world feel a bit emptier (they were a corrupt chapter in the mojave, though, and did hoard technology)

Is there a way to turn Fallout : New Vegas into a somewhat realistic survival game ? I don't care that many critters wouldn't be there in real life or similar stuff, as the game in itself is an alternate reality.
The survival part catches me, though.
If you're on PC there's a lot of great mods that could easily accomplish this. Otherwise not really.

By the time I got to House I had already had the same observations of the other factions as he did for them. House himself however is a pretty terrible person to leave in charge IMO. However, he has plans for actually make a interstellar nation which is something I can get behind as opposed to the NCR's more shortsighted goals.

In fact, the narrative is obviously in favor of House as opposed to NCR considering the message you receive upon terminating House.

I thought that was from a newspaper written by some of House's robots. Given the kind of government he wanted to build and the power he pulled, I don't doubt he'd have a literal propoganda machine in place.

NCR populating the wasteland is probably the best case scenario because a regulated "military" around the area would make everything much more civilized

House, or myself ruling vegas is more self-centered. It wouldn't help the people as much, but it would rake in the cash for him or myself (probably myself since I don't believe house could research such development for space since he can only use robots).

So between an independent vegas ruled by myself, or an NCR controlled vegas and wasteland, it's just up to you whether you want to help the people or help yourself. Either way, the NCR will eventually claim most of the lands around the mojave, with the exception of vegas, which can be debated on being independent or not (I believe it should be)

Well, given House's gigantic ego, it's possible that he simple never predicted somebody would actually be able to kill him, and thus never programmed a reaction into his robots. Of course, then you have to question why the newspaper is able to publish an article on it, but it'd probably have to have a large amount of intelligence anyway. Either that or it just gets an original article mourning someone's death, goes to the Old World equivalent of Facebook, and Ctrl+V's the "about me" section into it.

I've been going over F:NV's endings since I really don't want to make a playthrough for each individual part.

NCR and Independent are really grey in how things turn out. I find it hilarious the best outcome situation for Novac actually requires you to join the Legion.

    47 without chems

With the Sub-Dermal Armor implant, both ranks of the Toughness perk, and the Big Brained or Brainless perks, wearing the Remnants power armor and helmet can grant the player 47 DT.

    Legit.

Also. I'm thinking of picking House. I don't like the current American model of having the man with the honourable goals be the fašade for corporations, and that's exactly what the NCR is.

Much better to have the scrupulous corporations act as the fašade and have the man with the honourable goals run it all.

At first i thought only a brute character would ever choose House... what with "that fuck" setting everything up, but now... I see it clear. Don't try to bend the spoon, bend... everything else?

yeah, In FO3 i took maybe 5 shots without VATS in every run. Now it's closer to 30/70. Still, i'd rather rely on the math behind it than my eye...

I wonder why Obsidian even bothered making .22LR when it's used only by two guns. the Varmint Rifle was meant to use it but apparently they changed it because no one would want to use it if it used that.

That's a mesage House's computer sends to your pip-boy. He probably wrote it himself considering how much it went on about how the world was a worse place for his death.

Personally I choose the Independant route. The Legion is just bad, House has good goals but the ends don'tjustify the means IMO, and I like the NCR but they need compeitin and hey don;t care about the people of the Mojave, just the land.

I never actually bothered to read it, didn't even notice it was a note until I loaded up a character to check it.

I'm also carrying too much crap. I can't find vendors to sell all my crap too and I decided to skip picking Nipton because I was already full now I'm picking up more guns from the gangsters on the way to Novac.

I    nuked everything    in Lonesome Road, both sides suck, just in different ways, Legion are a genocidal autocracy that'll collapse into bickering and power grabs when Caesar dies and the NCR are pretty much everything wrong with modern day America with none of the upsides.
