So a month after I installed a custom rom onto my Galaxy Ace, I've started having a ton of problems with my data connectivity and other nuisances. So I've decided to try and install the stock rom and see if that would fix it.

Halfway through flashing it using Odin, the program crashed for some reason, and now my phone's in a sort of vegetative state. Won't boot into recovery, won't connect to my computer. All it can do is display an image of a phone not being able to connect to the computer. I've tried taking out the battery and resetting it, and it's still doing it.
Get into download mode. It will still show the image, but Odin should be able to detect it and you should be able to get it revived.

This is odd, on the 50 cent page, Dead Space is no where to be found...

    also, i got 500 kB/s over tethered 3G

Okay, I did backup again, and it seems to have taken up some space. It dropped from 1.8gb to 1.322gb.

Still gives 'Error while making a backup image of /data'

Not sure If I should give it a shot trying to factory reset though.
You need to reflash recovery and try again. Once you get a working Nandroid backup, do a full wipe of Android system files on the sd card and in the system partitions, reinstall MIUI, and use Titanium Backup Pro to pull files as necessary off of the Nandroid. DO NOT REPLACE CRITICAL SYSTEM APPLICATIONS! If you must restore data to a system app, only restore application data, and make sure that your ROM build is the same as the old one!

    Edited:

I've gotten 750 kB/s before, certainly not getting anymore because fucking AT&T is filled with cheapskates that won't even upgrade the network HSPA+ where they already deliver HSDPA.

We do get LTE though, but that trashes battery life and it really doesn't improve matters much, as the LTE network gets loaded with subscribers it's going to go to shit, seeing as how the average speeds on LTE are already 12 Mbps..

The usual way it's done is to flash a kernel with CWM through Odin.

    Edited:

Alternate methods could be flashing a kernel through CWM.

I learned today that it's a bad idea to leave Steam Mobile running on my phone while it's in the bottom of my bag while I workout.

When I took the phone out it was pretty hot and the battery was at 6%. I squeezed 3 hours out of that 6% with minimal texting.

Amaze 4G: Probably by the end of this month.

T-Mobile SGS2: God knows when, not even the international SGS2 has an official build yet.

XDA developers should have something, you get into download mode and then connect phone to computer, put the tar file in the PDA slot, make sure you don't wipe efs or reset time or anything important, and flash.

CWM you just install from zip and select the kernel zip file.

So like the next 7 days will be like the 10 cents app sale we had in November, but with a bunch of 50 cent apps and one 25 cent app everyday. I already bought 2,the others I don't need/want, or I already have it.

And which build? Stable nightly or experimental?

The previous time I tried CM7 it killed my battery like mad.

Is there any way to make my browser stay in memory on ICS?
The ROMs have greatly improved, and there's only some minor bugs left.

However it keeps killing my tabs, it got so bad that it actually kills background tabs while I'm still in the browser.

Is there anything I can do?

So I just got my first Android phone (HTC Sensation XL), and having upgraded from an iPhone 3GS I have no idea what I'm doing.

I hear a lot about custom roms, rooting, etc. Can someone point me in the direction of somewhere to start using/customising this thing?

Hey guys, so I really want to get myself an android phone. I found a good deal for a galaxy S2, is that pretty much the best phone to go for? I've read a lot of reviews but it'd be good to hear from people that seem to know a lot about it. Sorry if I sound horribly uninformed

So how many 49cent apps did you guys buy yesterday (when it became Google Play?)

    I bought:

Dead Space (needs somewhat huge amount of space for resources)
Business Calendar (decent, needs new GUI revamping though)

Every other app that I wanted such as SwiftKey X I already got from the 10 cent sale, and most of the stuff I bought I didn't even use/play...
