Does turning off a device affect battery capacity? Also, what's a good keyboard config so that I can type with my thumbs on a 10 inch screen.

All batteries discharge over time, no matter if they are used or not, and if memory serves, turning a device back on uses lots of energy. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, please!

I hope you have surgeon's hands, because disassembling a device put together by thousands of little Chinese hands is not easy to put back together.
I've looked it up and it seems easy to disassemble and put a new screen in. I remember the times when most things were directly soldered to the main board but with the Wildfire it seems that the screen is connected by a ribbon cable, which makes it pretty easy to replace. I am going to give it a shot anyway, I'd rather pay a small amount of money to do it myself than fork out 100+ euro to have T-Mobile fix it.

Before I bought the SGS2, when I still had the Spica there wasn't even a subforum on XDA for it, so some awesome Russian guy hosted a forum dedicated to the Spica instead. I always envied those that had their own subforum on XDA. Then I got the SGS2 and now I miss that awesome little forum with nice members and strict moderators.

Guys, what's the best Android phone with a budget of ~200 euros? My brother's dumbphone is dying quite fast and he's looking at a rather cheap android phone.

Would the Samsung Galaxy Ace be a good choice? Keep in mind that he won't flash roms or do much of these advanced things.

Doesn't really need one afaik. He mostly uses phones for calls (and possibly some games), the keyboard won't be that important. But I was kinda surprised to see that the Mini series are very cheap.

edit: also, "the Mini is too small" - his words.

mankind_me: still no video recording on CM9. :( Samsung ROMs look like shit (even worse with """"ICS"""""" themed ROMs) although the latest leak is showing some UI progress, maybe they will change the icons/launcher after all to make it look less GingerbreadTW-ish.

Okay so I managed to use villainrom fine and got the phone to launch but I cant get clockwork recovery to work, it just shows regular android one.
I tried flashing an insecure kernel to no avail
When trying to install clockwork manually in the android recovery I get "error failed to verify whole file signature"
