WAVE 9 GOLD DISCONNECT FUCK
Uh, in ME1 you can shoot a scientist just because he stole something from his work. And you can shoot Shiala even after she says she will help the colony, and after she gives you the Cipher.
that reminds me, do you think Shiala still tastes like blueberries or is it like a skin colour controls the flavour kind of deal.
Lime :3
But those are all pseudo-justified in the context. Like, Renegade Shep is paranoid and feels like he can't let those folks walk free, otherwise they might put other people at-risk or go apeshit crazy again. (funny enough, none of the "let them go" Paragon options EVER came back to bite you in the ass. Apparently EVERYONE in the galaxy is sincere and trustworthy when being held at gunpoint, I guess.)
My point is, take all the times Shep punches a fucker out in ME2. Like the Salarian on Thane's recruitment mission who points a gun at you. He'd be completely justified in blowing a fucker away who's waving a gun around, but homeboy just straight punches him out instead. Is it a rash action? Yes. But he didn't fucking murder a dude. Similarly, in the two instances I remember of letting wounded dudes die, Shepard justified it by going like "they're dead already, no point in wasting time" or shit like that, which is crude but utilitarian.
I'm just saying that the ME1 and 2 renegade options walked the line between practicality and villainy, like Han Solo-style Anti-Heroism, and ME3 renegade when straight over the line into the Darth Vader shit. Like, old renegade shit was Chaotic Good while paragon was Lawful Good. But in ME3, it's Lawful Good v. Chaotic Neutral leaning toward Evil.
Chorban attacks and tries to kill you. That's why you have an option to kill kim.
You shoot him because he's a thief who could have easily gotten people killed, and you shoot Shiala because she served Saren and has been mindraped by the Thorian apparently.
The Renegade Shepard never does overly psychotic things for no reason. He's a 'take-no-prisoners' type, sure, but he never just randomly shot people for no reason, or was a total psycho.
He's a "if you can't win, cheat" type, using deception (it's a bomb! RUN!) as a substitute for violence as much as violence itself.
Although I gotta say, punching Gerrel in the gut felt fucking good. Dunno how the fuck Bioware expected me to empathize with those fuckers after their little kangaroo court. The "I will sit back and watch your fleet burn!" line was fucking badass, too. Way better than the paragon "let's all work together!" pussy shit. Nuh-uh, fuck that, you want to fight a fucking war, you fight a fucking war. I'll be sipping mojitos while you do it.
Oh joy, I am just now discovering that a quest is bugged and I refuse to reload a save game from several hours ago for a quest that will award me with, at best, 80 or so war asset points. Now this game is just getting on my nerves. You'd think that Bioware had more than ample time to go about correcting errors.
But despite it's elephant-in-the-room, dick-slapping-you-in-the-face errors, I'm enjoying the game so far. Scorpion heavy pistol is awesome.
Actually, Rana Thanoptos, the Asari in Saren's base and in the lab during Grunt's recruitment mission turns out to be indoctrinated and kills multiple high ranking Asari.
It doesn't do anything that really matters though.
Not necessarily. If you already met him, he won't attack you at all.
Yeah but that's just more email bullshit. You can't expect me to read those.
I was talking to a friend today like "Kai Leng's email was soooo pathetic" and I was all "what email?" Fucking apparently I'm supposed to be reading the fucking newsletters I get during this galactic war.
The Quarians did a very good job of making me feel less sympathetic for them than the Batarians in ME3.
Edited:
Don't worry it was basically a typical angry Xbox live message you see posted around the internet.
You know, in Mass Effect 1, when you got a quest, your journal would tell you the cluster, system, and planet, where that mission was located and keep you updated on what you did or needed to do.
In 3, all I have to work with is GO TO BENNING FIND EVIDENCE.
How am I expected to work under these conditions?
Anyone?
It makes no sense, too
It's been like, almost three years since she worked in Saren's Labs, and she's showing no signs of mental instability. Then, out of nowhere, she grabs a gun and shoots three high ranking Asari (somehow).
Its a shame I won't get to play Multiplayer, or get the Resurgence Pack, as Im having trust/blame issues with the fucking lazy, idiotic people I live with. I want to be a Banana Drell.
so apparently if you have a level 20 character in one class, any other characters you make in that class start at level 20 as well? what
apparently it works that way for every class, where the level you have for one is the level you have for all?
Yep. Slightly weird but it makes sense when you think about it.
and you promote the entire class when you promote? that doesn't make much sense to me...
I saw her in ME2 when I went to grab Grunt and she said thanks for Virmire. She didn't seem indoctrinated then?
She stole my stuff, I stole her virginity and got her people killed
You know, I actually would have really liked for Paragons and Renegades to be grittier. If it were an actual transition from genuine Renegade to psychopath, like Shepard's getting desperate and is begining to crack a bit, it would have been some proper good character development.
There's just so much wasted potential in regards to morality. It's pretty much the end-times, so you would expect a renegade Shepard to get a bit unstable under the pressure. But that's not even hinted at, it's just "nope lol i'm a villain protagonist now".
Vigil talks about Reaper sleeper agents that are able to be activated long after they're indoctrinated.
Balak talks about the same thing; that's why the Batarians were decimated so quickly.
That one merc in the Eclipse base on Illium turns out to be a murderer though, and if you go the paragon route she gets away with it.
What?
No option to just tell her that there's nothing after you die?
Her reaction would be priceless!
Part Two done.
How ever will this situation resolve itself? I guess we'll find out when I finish Part 3 whenever the fuck!
Lankist, where can I see the rest of these? I need to save them.
Same goes for Rana Thanoptis .
uh no he didn't. He wanted to save the Turians from extinction by serving the reapers.
And then Javik cut off all his limbs and buried him alive.
like i give a fuck
XP is given to the class as a whole. All changing species does is change your power set. Would you rather level up 4 different characters for each class? It's a nice feature when you unlock a new character on a high level class. No need to get it on par with other players.
He tried to cut Shepard in on the deal as well, and since he hated humans, that kind of implies he wanted everyone in on it, not just the Turians. If he just wanted the Turians, he wouldn't have told Shepard his motive and tried to persuade him.
you make a valid point, but if all the powers are different by species, i wouldn't mind leveling them up one by one
maybe i'm crazy
Fuck you, Ashley, that last panel made me smile.
I've left your ass crispy on virmire in every playtrough DO NOT MAKE ME REGRET IT
That one chick on Virmire, the Asari secretary or whoever, I'm 99% sure I heard something about her going apeshit and killing people on a newscast, but that's the only one I've seen. But it could've been talking about someone else, hard to tell.
