Your parents play S.T.A.L.K.E.R?? Friend, can we swap our parents?
Random awesome shit always happens when i'm playing stalker.
Get MSO (or swarts mod if you want that and more content,) and ai try to take shit from eachother.
For example, doing the thing with morgans PDA, I gave it in to duty. Duty attacked the freedom guys at the stash and wiped them out. Then freedom counter attacked with twice the amount of men and destroyed duty. Then comes along jack and his gang, and they see an opportunity to join in, next thing I know, a fucking bloodsucker is running around.
Basically freedom survived the giant battle and should not be fucked with.
well maybe it just starts off slowly..
remember we're playing different mods as well.
and the thingy you mentioned in the end was a scripted event because it was catalyzed by you giving the PDA to duty.
i dunno, this is my third playthrough of the third game. i remember more going on and i'm pretty sure those two times were vanilla.
redux is just so fun though because of how easy everything human dies. i mean exosuits don't mean shit, i remember putting 5 bullets into a merc with one on and he just dropped dead. one might have been a headshot though. that's how it should be.
i can't play any other mod that doesn't give realistic health.
Don't over-analyze this, but we won't have a brand new faction warfare system built in, sadly. You can expect a buttload of quests, though. The swamps, for instance, are getting their first missions implemented soon, since I have their story all written out.
Today marks the five year anniversary (EU) of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, good hunting!
So, what do we have on S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 besides of concept arts?
opinions on favorite beverages?
I agree with you in the sense that there should be more chances of encountering hostile stalkers especially after you piss off Duty / Freedom. And by this I don't mean cramming the maps full of hostiles, just managing the spawns in a way where it's possible to encounter a hostile-on-sight squad of stalkers.
I like what Call of Pripyat did with the day / night cycle where the different stalker and mutant groups are active during different times but I feel it needs to be expanded in STALKER 2. How about a week cycle instead of just the day / night cycle ? There'd be much more variation if the spawns and the routes the NPCs take would differ a bit during some days of the week and having events that happen maybe once / twice a week like a spetsnaz team scouting around certain locations or Monolith death squads infiltrating the "lowbie areas" during the night. The mutant populations could also migrate a little bit when it's reasonable so you would have to keep adapting to the environment even after you've gotten familiar with the locations.
and no no no, you're getting me a bit wrong.
i not only want to happen upon hostile on site humans, i'd like to see humans duking it out with other humans, even more so than just happening upon fodder for my Sig. just randomly. like on the map there's at least 2 fire fights going on at all times.
I would love to have a mod for CoP in Pripyat where Mercs, Bandits, Monolith, Freedom, and Duty each battle against each other while trying to hold different areas. I'm talking fights with a couple dozen stalkers each trying to pop a cap in each other.
god what would be super fucking cool is if you could instigate a fight. say two squads are passing each other, a duty and a freedom. they decide to just pass each other cautiously cause they got places to be.
but you're up on a grassy knoll with a muffled SVU and headshot any one member from either squad.
because there's no fucking way in hell they should know you shot them, and there's another potentially hostile squad right by them, both squads engage each other.
pick off stragglers, execute wounded begging for medkits, loot, win.
and faction relations should only decrease or increase if someone saw you do it, then survives for a certain period of time or gets back to whatever base they go to.
I guess it could be possible to be made, but I can see it accidentally backfiring in many ways.
Oh yeah, one thing I'd really love is stalkers actually going on artifact hunts, then keeping it for themselves or selling them off to the traders. And stalkers going to the traders to restock every once in a while; if the game registers that they haven't restocked there is a probability that they might run away from battle or, if they cannot afford any equipment, stay in camp until they join a stalker band in order to earn more dosh.
In other words
More interactive AI would be fucking awesome
Does anyone have the file that allows you to upgrade weapons in redux?
You still need to fix the correct number of artifact slots manually from the outfit.ltx, otherwise it's way overpowered.
Also, I just found that Misery allows you to upgrade both upgrade paths for outfits which makes them a bit too powerful.
The whole dialogue regarding them is in this picture
Hey, who has the story from ShoC that talks about the Tourists from the U.N. coming to the Zone?
I'm talking the whole thing, if possible.
Also, what type of camo is this? I've never seen it before.
leftovers of the suits made for the soldiers(?) serving in the C-Con's security units . The other countries that were involved with the C-Con project would then set up the ISG and give them a new variety of the camo/suit combination that they had found to be good for Zone conditions but differentiate them from the crazy-ass cultists that are the Monolith.
Weren't you going to PM me something?
Is there any way to make falldamage more serious? It's kind of silly that a jump off the Cordon's wrecked bridge barely does any damage.
In Clear Sky, jumping off of a small house will result in severe brain hemorrhaging.
A little late to the party, but what I'd really love in Stalker is an actual economy. Stalkers going out to get artifacts to take back and sell, killing mutants to sell their body parts, bandits going about their typical kill and rob routine, etc. Everyone could interact with the traders, not just the player, they could buy the things each other (including the player of course) have sold previously. This would be tricky to implement (trader never having money) but it would definitely add a new element to Stalker.
In doom's mod, knifing destroy-able planks creates annoying -glitchy sound where the hit sound loops for ~5 seconds, i find it rather annoying.
It's not really that massive problem, since those planks are quite few and far between, and i could always shoot them. There is no bugging in vanilla.
On other note, dumped some stuff to Sidorovich after raiding bandit armory and Army outpost with my trusty human-sledge. I decided to drop 500kg worth of stuff on the floor, just for shits and giggles. The game still ran surprisingly well, above 20fps all the time, despite massive clipping and bouncing ammo-boxes and Cossack-bottles. Shit was rad.
Heading into Pripyat for the first time..wish me luck, stalkers.
The Threaded SPAS is pretty fucking awesome. You can drop almost everyone in about 2 shots.
I only ever use the shotguns as extended knives, as long as you aim in the general direction of someone's head, it'll be mush anyway.
shotties are great. currently i'm keeping a pumper down my pant leg. it's extremely useful even though it's sort of a specialty weapon, even more so because i only load it with shot.
it's great against mutants and humans alike. against hordes of mutants shotguns are god.
Had a hour struggling with the rest of them.
Pretty proud of my current SoC playthrough. Trying to keep as many of my friends alive as possible so far, and I'm doing pretty well. I've made it sort of a personal mission to equip poorly-armed friendly stalkers with more powerful weapons. I'm rich as hell, an expert, have the "very good" reputation, and I'm 1st in the stalker rankings, all without even having been to the Warehouses yet.
Also have some badass gear. Fireballs, Flashes, a Mica, Mama's Beads and some other cool stuff. Toting around a SEVA suit, Val, Threaded SPAS, AKS-74U, the "Big Ben" Deagle and a silenced Beretta. Planning on getting the good ending again. Love this game.
I giggle like a little girl whenever I see someone (or me) get sucked into a vortex/whirligig/whatever it is and get gibbed.
