    Got to pripyat. All team members survived.
    It was quite tough.
    My first impression about Pripyat. I heard it was quite beautiful there...



    On my first play through, this fucker ruined it:


    He got stuck there, everybody knew he was there, but their bullets couldn't penetrate the wall, or the gap to kill him.
    Neither his bullets can penetrate the wall to hit any of my team.

    So, the Military guy and Vano stood right in front of that guy, just staring at each other.
    Until our ex-Monolith give our poor Military guy one bullet to the head.

    Last save.

    Oh shit, i just realized that if you're dizzy, and look at the first image half-eyed, vision moves!

    Had a great moment in that Misery mod for CoP not long ago. I had been beaten up a bit by a pack of blind dogs on my way back to the Skadovsk. Suddenly out of nowhere two Snorks charged at me. The first one wen't down pretty fast thanks to my AK-74, but the second one managed to hit me in the process. Now circling around me like the beast it is, i had low health and little time before the Snork would charge in for the kill. I decided to just hipfire and hope for the best.
    My gun jammed. Only one bullet made it out before the gun misfired, but. That one bullet managed to hit the Snork right between the eyes, saving my life. I returned to the Skadovsk after that, repaired and upgraded it. I've kept that AK-74 ever since.

    Man, X-16 in OGSE was bullshit. Seriously, i had a tapered SPAS-12 with like 150 buckshot and a LR300 with M203, 800+ rounds and 10 or so grenade. By the end, i had just about nothing. In Red Forest now, not going to bad.

    Probably the biggest source of rage for me in OGSE (aside from Mercs) is Anomalies. Invisible vortexes everywhere. FUCKING. BURNT. FUZZ. Those are such bullshit. Instantly destroying suits and putting you at a bleeding level that takes 15-20 bandages to fix. It's ridiculous.
    Protip: Sakharov sells an excellent anomaly detector that even marks down their location on your minimap. It's short-ranged, though, so you'd better have a decent reaction time if you're driving.

    For some reason all the duty members at front gate of the Bar in OGSE are hostile when I approach it for the first time. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it because I'm wearing a Freedom suit? The people at the checkpoint were all fine!

    so redux is infinitely more stable than sigerous. i always make perm saves constantly as well as quick saving every other second so i'm not worried about that.


    also redux is insanely hard to start off in. it took me three hours just to get a decent loadout and even then the AK i'm using is really damaged and i have almost no ammo for it.


    i guess the best way is to just go out and find artifacts? which i can actually do now because i can protect myself and i got nightvision.
    Being a corpse vulture is always your friend, although Redux makes it far less productive. The bloodsucker nest quest provides some useful rewards for a starting player (LR300, Porcupine artifact which has no negative qualities). Afterwards, you can run up the claw anomaly and grab the fixed spawn Hobgoblin (-1 Rads) from the tunnel, then go to the Dredge station and grab the other Porcupine that usually spawns there. Once you have rad protection Iron Forest is also a good place to hunt for artifacts, as long as you're liberal with bolts, and antidote and psy-block ought to make Oakpine and Scar safe enough for artifact hunting.

    it always pisses me off how in any game when i loot a body i find at most a fifth of a magazines worth of ammo in any game.


    what, do the bad guys expect to die so they pack just enough ammo?

    Its even more noticeable in redux.

    2-4 bullets per person


    Anyway im trying to make a new hitler rants video but fuck sony vegas is overcomplicating everything.

    Considering how liberal the NPCs are with automatic fire, it does not strike to me as "unrealistic" at the least, at least in S.T.A.L.K.E.R titles.
    Even if you kill them stealthily, you're most likely not their first combat encounter of the day.

    That, and it was really annoying in vanilla Call of Pripyat where I found myself constantly encumbered by the sheer amount of ammunition found on the corpses and I didn't even pick up 9x18 ammo.

    Its even more noticeable in redux. 2-4 bullets per person
    For me it's usually 9-15 rounds if you also remember to unload their weapons.

    Right now we're stuck with EVERY SINGLE STALKER roaming outside of safe spots while on the edge of his supplies and no code that tells them to run back to Skadovsk/Yanov/Laundromat to replace the losses.
    The stalkers usually have ammo stashes all over the Zone so there's already an in-game explanation for it. It's just that the game does not model stalkers going to their stashes and picking them up.

    there's no logical reasoning behind the amount of ammo they carry. if i'm not the first combat of the day and they're that low on ammo why the fuck are they standing around with only three bullets left like a retard besides the fact that they're programmed with infinite ammo?




    i mean in the end it doesn't matter and is probably a good thing, but it's kinda frustrating especially when other npc's can loot bodies too.

    But what lacks logic in that is that every sane person would leg it back to the nearest base/trader to resupply themselves with ammo or stay around for a bit after a raid.     Exactly. Mods should have some form of a retreat feature that NPCs use after some time in order to simulate them running out of ammo.

    na, everything is fine the way it is. you gotta sacrifice realism in games all the time to get a desired effect.

    i actually remember some game where the enemies had limited ammo.


    when they ran out they'd just chase you around the level pointing their gun at you. in the x-play review they even got an entire level of enemies to run out of ammo and follow them around just to show how ridiculous it could get.

    It's never really explained, but I'm pretty sure that the original cover was supposed to be this(the guy is Marked One, I think)

    Yeah i know, i've got it. Still a pain in the ass though. Like when you're walking along the pipes to get to the portal bits in the compound, if you don't jump over one of them just right you'll hit it.

    Because the modder hasn't figured out yet what to do with them.

    Also, Pripyat ? Was it added in the later TFW versions since it sure as hell isn't in Clear Sky normally or the 2.9.5 version of TFW ?

    Mercs could operate in Limansk as factions
    Yeah, in one of the Call of Pripyat endings it's implied that Mercenaries definitely have a presence at Limansk (plus it was a really odd reference to    Scar shooting down the military chopper    in Clear Sky ) which probably kind of replaces Dead City as their implied headquarters.
