What's the easiest way to install this if I don't have access to a CD burner?

Music app is Zune and is much better than those early screenshots. It can even play music in the background instead of going into standby like other apps.

If you do have a USB drive somewhere, use the Windows 7 USB/DVD tool.

It could be kind of iffy depending on how much the W7 installation takes up and how much your W8 one will.

Guys, i can't burn the 64 bit version so... is there any way to upgrade from the developer preview to consumer preview without burning the dvd ?

Not any way that anyone has figured out yet. You got to format and that is what they want you to do.

50GB is plenty enough to install, it's not going to give you massive amounts of space for programs though.

Time to erase that and put 8 on it now.

Considering downloading this during a PC lab some time so I can use my Uni internet to the fullest and not the artificial limit we have in halls. Seems like it could be interesting to poke around in with the VHD install method.

I might walk into class tomorrow early and be all like im installing 8 onto my class machine

I don't like the new start screen/metro apps at all. Everything is WAY too big on my 27" monitor. I can see this being great on tablets and maybe some laptops, but I don't like it at all on a desktop. Thankfully my second monitor seems to always show the desktop.

After trying this I really have mixed opinions about it, it has good sides as well as bad ones, I will need some time to get used to Windows 8 I guess.

So I have Windows 7 installed on my C drive and XP on D drive. I'm going to format the D drive and install Win8 on it. Is it possible to do such thing? Furthermore, is it possible to install it from a pendrive?

Yes and yes. If you get the Windows 8 consumer preview installer thing instead of the .iso, it can make your pendrive into a bootable Windows 8 installer without any extra software.

Yes and Yes

But if your boot stuff is on that D drive (like mine is) then you are going to have to rebuild it to get back into 7.

I've got to say this bug that makes Windows freeze whenever I hit one of the hot spots is really ruining this experience. Now that there's 3 in 3 corners I can't really snap over to close a window, show the desktop or hit the start button without the whole thing freezing up for about 20 seconds. For some reason it fixed itself in the developer preview but now it's lingering around.
