Holy SHIT. More ticket presales for radiohead today through ticketmaster in Australia, so I got in queue. got access to 2 tickets in the circle, all well and good until the final confirmation screen, where the terms and conditions box wouldn't accept that you'd clicked on it, and kept throwing up a "please tick the terms and conditions" even though i had. 5 minutes passed and the payment process reset, and I lost my tickets.
at the moment the Facebook page that was running the presale is a huge marathon of hate and anger because almost everyone had this problem and the tickets have since been bought

Holy crap Marvin Gaye is so good.
I didn't really give What's Going On a very fair listen, but going back through it, it's brilliant. My Music Appreciation class is teaching about soul and gospel right now too, and its relation to Civil Rights so this is perfect.
I need more.

I got the Special Edition though and I feel like that was a mistake because it seems like a lot of those albums just add too many tracks and ruin the original album's flow

Yeah, I don't like getting "anniversary" or "special" additions, and occasionally I won't get remasters purely because it ruins the sound.
I got the plain Jane version and it's terrific. So... soulful.

Music Appreciation isn't all it's cracked up to be. There's no independent study, and the theory section of the course is lacking.
The first semester is Medieval to 1900, then 1900 styles and onward. I quite liked Romanticism and Jazz, but aside from that I've found memorizing dates rather than music very droll.

One in Australia, Today Tonight has some of the most useless shit ever. They broadcast a story about how an 83 year old woman was punched in the nose because she took someone's car spot. Now I would've been on the side of the old lady but it turns out she's gone and slapped the person yelling at her for taking the spot. To try to calm her down. IN WHAT FUCKING UNIVERSE DOES SLAPPING AN ANGRY PERSON MAKE THEM CALM DOWN? Seriously. Little old bitch.

"Music Appreciation" is usually what makes music listening really dull, the only way to do it is with your own ears and mind. If you want to learn about different eras, just ASK and read about.
I don't want a self-claimed expert in music to tell me what is what unless I'm interested. They choose what you have to be interested in at that moment in time.

It's all legal technicality jargon to make you feel aware that it is STILL the manufacturer who owns your item.
Obviously nobody cares about it, but if you knew about what they're trying to do you'd think they were money-grabbing imbeciles.
If they put so much effort back in the 90s to stop everyone recording music with cassettes they'll go to no bounds now because technology has exploded.
