Fine, I might look into it once I finish Rin's arc but I don't feel too comfortable lowering my standards on drawing style for the great story. I can only beg that the saucer-eyes it doesn't distract me too much. It's a damn shame when one aspect of a piece of work detracts from the entirety of the greater experience, visuals in particular, which I personally find myself cursed with sometimes.

I loved every single part of Clannad, mainly, the story, secondly, the amazing soundtrack.

I don't know what's even going on. I think I originally chose Tsubaki, then it gave me a second choice and chose no. So I assume i'm already going down the haru path, which I thought would be the best one to go down. I assumed that if I stayed with tsubaki, I would eventually become a better person, but also stay forever in debt to gonzou. He might be happier and more kind to others, but he would also become 'livestock'. However, seeing as maou was also trying to get rid of gonzou maybe things would've run their course anyways. Meh. I don't really plan on doing this one more than once, unless I get a catastrophic ending, because it seems like it will be a very long read even if I can auto-skip it. I'll gauge my interest on it once i'm done.

Either you or EcksDee know if the game has an ending that's considered canon, the "true ending", whatever you want to call it? Usually, when I get the ending, I lose all interest in a game. So it'd be great if I got the true ending right away. If the game doesn't even have one, I'll just choose the best bitch and fuck her.

Act like what? A nice guy? I don't recall him ever being a straight out asshole and I re-watched the series a couple weeks ago. I think you're pulling shit right out of your ass. The only person he even vaguely acts bad to is his dad but he has his reasons, I can't go into detail though because of spoilers.
Just play the damn thing and stop your whining about things that aren't true at all.

The simple fact that he helps the other girls totally disproves he is an asshole right off the bat. I honestly have no idea how anyone could come to the conclusion that he is an asshole.

I don't think I could get into any other VNs. The art styles on all of them tend to be too distracting.

A good basic VN with not too "distracting art" (whatever the fuck that is) are the "Da Capo" series. Personally I like the second one best, but the first one should be played first so you get a grasp on how everything works.

Why are you reading VNs for the art. The art is there so you can get an basic idea of whats happening in the story, and what the characters look like its not meant to be the main focus.

Any good 'tective VNs? I like 'tective stories. I even thought up a basic plot and design for my own VN (or shitty-as-fuck Shemue ripoff) with a 'tective in another dimention.

Galaxy Angel series comes to mind. It's all light-hearted star trek style stuff, but it's got tactical homeworld-esque battles. Which is fun.What about something like Utawarerumono or Muv Luv. In the first you get interactive sections where you control some soldiers in a battle. Just as much planning and strategy needed as in Dragon age.
And in Muv Luv you get shit like
Which I'd wager is just as exciting to play as anything Mass Effect can throw at you.
