Amen to that. BT are atrocious. Overpriced and extremely unreliable. I'd get Virgin too if it was available in my area.

lol virgin are really really really bad, adsl bt are also quite bad but at least there service works more than half the time. BT Infinity has been the best isp i've ever used, even more so than Be. i've clocked 6 months uptime on the modem without restarts, no downtime, no caps, no traffic management and its always fast. When i was with virgin the only place i could get 50MB was if the server was in London, i was gettinbg 125kb to america, about 2mb to europe and the downtime, it would go down for 'maintinance' sometimes 2 or 3 times a week for upto 5 or 6 hours. youtube videos would always buffer even if speedtest said i was getting the full 50mb lol

I doubt they'll upgrade me from 10Mbps unless I renew my contract for another 9 months/year which sucks because I'm a student at the end of my course and don't know how long I'll be in an area covered by them.

Don't be jealous of UK speeds.

UK probably get the worst speeds in Europe.

16 000 kbit/s is the most you can get here in Germany with the usual providers. And it's like 40€/month too

It seems that both Virgin and BT are starting to kick into gear. BT are starting to trial 80Mb/s down and 20Mb/s up which will be available to their current 40Mb customers, whether that's free or not though, I'm not getting my hopes up. Hopefully since Virgin are offering all these upgrades BT might be encouraged to keep up.

Still nice to go from this incredibly unstable connection:

You can still get really good speeds through copper with VDSL2.
This is my current speed in an apartment with ancient copper cabling:

And this isn't even the fastest speed available, I could upgrade to around 200Mbps if I wanted.

At the moment anyone below, I think 30Mb gets 4gig worth of download before the fair use policy kicks in then you get throttled and everyone gets throttled in the evening due to peak times. I go from 5MB/s download to about 2.5MB/s between 5pm and 10pm.

Also as everyone else is doing it:

Fuck off with your high speeds, my connection can only apparently handle 8.4Mb/s, I still only get around 6Mb/s

I'm still awaiting the go-ahead on the BT Infinity for my family, we were apparently going to get it, can't wait for those speeds.

Are you really paying for 20MB, or are you paying for up to 20MB, most people seem to look over that fact.

Downgrade then if you don't need the extra non-traffic managed bandwidth.

Also, 60mbps for me after upgrade!
