I guess this belongs in here, i didn't want to thread for such a minor problem.

I've got just over 3k lines of text and i need to merge every other line with the one above it. Google brings up nothing, any help? I really don't want to do this manually.

    Edited:

Nevermind, Notepad++ is a pretty awesome tool

Okay quick followup question to the laptop DC port. What soldering iron is best for both a beginner and for work on a mother board? I've looked at soldering guides and it looks straight forward, also what solder should I use for the mother board?

    TELL ME NAO!

Damn, you don't even know how much this will help.
In steam, right click on the game > launch options > -sw -noborder

Works on all source 2007 games or later, L4D has a option within the game itself aswell.

I really hope your motherboard or that program is just crap at reading voltages because it's a miracle your PC runs at all if them readings are true.

Does anyone have any clue how to set it up so that I can print from my Mac Mini to my step-dad's Debian Stable machine running cups? I enabled network printing a while ago and can print from any Linux system, but not my Mac with cups. It should be showing the printer that is connected to his computer on my Printer settings, but it's not.

The Debian box is acting as a server between my computers and the printer. It works from Linux to Linux, but not OS X to Linux, even though both are running CUPS.

The printer is a HP Deskjet d2400.

Since yesterday I got the problem that firefox always freezes up when I want to do something that requires the flash player. Like youtube or tinychat. First it works for about 4 seconds then the browser freezes and the sound continues for about 2 seconds. I then have to close firefox over the task manager.

I tried reinstalling both firefox and flash player, but wothout success. It is really annoying and I need help.

    Edited:

I just figured it just happens on youtube itslef, I can watch youtube videos on facepunch. But also it now happens on the youtube start page. It also works just fine on chrome.

How do you lose connection from a wired connection to a router, yet can connect wirelessly to the same router? This will only happen for a few minutes, but then the router will go back to working as it should. I am using a Netgear WGT624v4 wireless router and am using dynamic IP addresses for devices hooked up to the router. Also, when I am hooked in wired, when I don't get a connection, it still shows the wired connection symbol at the bottom without the yellow triangle on it.

The headphones I just bought seem to make sound coming behind me in games rather quiet, like in Red Orchestra 2, a machine gunner will be firing away, making loads of noise, I turn around so my back is facing him and the noise of his gun drops drastically, I can still hear it though.

I think I recall it happening on a previous set of headphones I have had before.

Explain how this works? Especially seeing as the M50's have a single stereo jack, and I can't see how it could.

I can't explain it, it has nothing to do with the physical hardware but how software audio is handled in Windows, I never got really in-depth with it and didn't read too much into it, just changed my settings and forgot about the details

I set my equipment up a long time ago and my audio guy linked me to a topic on Head-Fi about how to get the best out of an X-Fi card for both music and games, but this stands for all headphones

once I can get in touch with him I'll have him dig the topic up

Another quick question relating to my dell dimension case mod(which is suppose to resemble the "Beefy computer" brand in counter strike). What would be better/cooler, a mod with new modern parts in it or computer parts that where used in the Beefy computer in counter strike source? Here are the parts that resembles the parts used in the computer just to help you help me decide(I believe they all will work together other than the missing power supply). Lastly I plan on modifying the case heavily to be able to fit everything in perfectly.
    Asus A8V VIA K8T800 Pro
    AMD Athlon 64 X2
    Cooler master
    ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
    Sound Blaster Audigy SE
    x2 hitachi deskstar 120gb
    2x1GB DDR Memory 3200 OCZ
Some power supply(don't know which kind to get)

You can possibly make a newer/better rig in that case and still make it look like the computer you're trying to replicate.

I've been having issues with my wireless connectivity lately. At first I just thought being down here in a separate apartment away from the main router meant I would always have shitty internet connection, but the other night I brought my mum's laptop down to format it for her and noticed that she was getting 4-5 bars while I get usually 1-2 bars. The adapter in my PC is a D-Link DWA-556 Xtreme PCIe and it works fairly well; all of the drivers have been updated and the router is also up to date.

I know it's $30 above your listed max but you might want to look at this one. It's really worth the $30 if you can get it.

It'll blow away any other monitor you'll get for $250. S-IPS, 24bit color with a 10bit internal LUT.

    I have a question.

So I'm gonna livestream some movies for some friends of mine and we wanna chat over Skype or something. The problem is (Im using XSplit by the way) that when I choose a media file and start broadcasting I'm gonna hear double, so I thought I could turn down the XSplit volume through the volume mixer but then the sound in the livestream goes away too.

Or even easier, I just wanna use the audio from the video file, nothing else.

    Idle???

That's horrifying - I really hope those are false temps, I know it's a laptop core but those should be your lower load temps, not idling.

Check task manager, is something using any cpu?

    Edited:

    Especially with a 25W TDP.

Have you reassembled your laptop recently?

    About overclocking..

I remember overclocking my CPU (i5-2500k) by setting some "multiplier" thing to x40.0, as in 4Ghz, in the BIOS. Mobo is ASRock P67 Extreme4.

Anyway I haven't touched the settings since, so I thought if there is anything more to it?

And what about OC'ing the graphics card? Got Nvidia Geforce GTX570, not sure how hot.. probably not too hot.

increase it, 4GHz is kind of low for a 2500k, You should be able to get to 4.5GHz, but you might need to increase voltage.

If you want to OC your GPU, install MSI Afterburner. And Furmark for testing.

Also, about temps, 60C for CPU = Hot, only on full load (With Prime95)
80C for GPU = Hot, should be only when using Furmark, but can go higher.

    HWMonitor for temps.
