It's also behind a pane of distorted glass. There's a difference between reusing a ragdoll model or a barrel like valve does and copying an entire warehouse like a certain company did,
and honestly. The whole IW reusing a warehouse!!! didn't even bother me
who gives a crap about the quality of a model you will never look at once you saw it the first time
IW reused a warehouse for one game, Valve used the same textures and models for ten different games.
Seriously just look at dota 2, it looks fucking incredible and reuses nothing, that's what Valve can do if their 3D modelers get off their asses and actually do their jobs.
Well, since CS:GO is in beta right now, it's safe to assume a lot of material is placeholder, like the current voice lines (which ARE being replaced eventually). So it's possible the dead civilian is also a placeholder.
Have you guys seen de_dust in csgo? It actually looks really nice, go into csgo, create a match on dust1, and just walk around, it looks incredible compared to the other csgo maps, that's what the other maps need to look like.

Valve reuses art from Half Life 2 because in todays standards, textures and models from 2004 still look better than most assets from console games.
Are they giving out beta invites for CS:GO like they are for Dota 2? As in, extra copies in inventories to give away?

all i can say is they better take the fucking fog out of this game. you can't see people half way across the train yard on de_train because it's too "foggy", no idea why they added that to the maps

I want my screen to jitter about like in 1.6 and CSS, it just feels weird otherwise.
Something that really bugged me in Counter-Strike:
The blooming reticle means next to nothing to me because the bullets will often fly outside of it. If you're going to have a blooming reticle, at least make it bloom in a way that lets me know where bullets are going.
I wish I could get into the beta :(

Fog isn't there because of consoles, Source runs on consoles easily at near max settings. (things like AA and texture filtering are turned down and FPS is capped at 30)
