By standard western Religion, I mean any religion that finds its roots in European development. African and Arabic religions also support the same definitive trend.

And since my argument contends there is infact a silent majority that displays a consensus projection, if you refute it outright, then there is no value to it. That said, I never stated anyone is 100% anything. I am using the lables hetero and homosexual as common society contends. Homosexual also tends to overlap Transgender, Bisexual and Pansexual inclusively and the same social issues extend down to them.

As for the other subpoint, by that logic then eventually society will reach a point where its hyperbolic views will bypass evident views. However, there are too many "real" examples to severly undercut the hyperbolic base.

Really? So in your view there are just too many 'flamboyant homosexuals' and the like to afford giving them fair treatment?

If that's how you wish to interpret it. I think of it more as there being too many who have a highly visible and dominant share of homosexual culture. And it is not "too many to" but rather "too many that they may." Think of it like this, I have a sack full of rocks weighing me down, and I jump into the water. I certainly CAN swim, and free of these rocks I can reach the shore. However, it is more likely I will drown, since even though there is nothing wrong with ME, these rocks impede my movement greatly.

I'm saying it's "wrong" as far as the majority is concerned because they observe it to be wrong.

--While also contending nothing about the subject itself, apart from the fact it contains a visible cohort who create the image of it being wrong.

Well polls certainly show that the majority favours same-sex marriage legalization:

The majority defines degeneracy and flamboyance. It's also the issue of majority has freedom of comfortable inconsistancy. There is a boundary of deviation that the standard heterosexual can leave and still be a moral person. Since the homosexual is already a deviant however, they are expected to maintain the vestiges of their morality if they wish to argue their position as "normal." Rights regardless, if somehow society could be convienently engineered to allow the reverse, the "feared wanton" heterosexual would be barbaric and cavemannish, grabbing members of the opposite cohort for sole reasons of pleasure and sustenance and an inexplicable social structure that defines gender roles. As such, their "Terrible married life" would be suspect to legal blocks and outrage, even if it truely makes the wives happy and the husbands prosperous.

I just don't know why people are bothered by this, why does it matter to you about what other people do with their personal lives? It's almost like people have to have a thing in their lives that they hate just to feel better about themselves. Like, jeez, why can't everybody just get along?

He is saying that the majority of the population gives definition to what is considered flamboyant or degenerate. He is saying that straight people have a little room to be against the norm, a.k.a fetishes and the like. But then he says that because homosexuals are already so against what a majority of people consider normal, there is little to no room to deviate from the absolute moral and good person they would need to be in order to be accepted by society. He goes on to give an example of the opposite of societies current views, explaining what would happen if heterosexuals were considered the social deviants that homosexuals are.

    Edited:

whats the point of saying this unless yr. trying to be a pedant?

He isn't trying to be a pedant, he's giving his view of the problem and what needs to happen. Just because you're either too ignorant or dumb to understand what he's written doesn't mean he's a 'pedant'.

you're really, like, not using a lot of words correctly here. step yr verbosity back a bit dogg

    Now you're just being simple
To everyone else having difficulty understanding Ivan, no he is not arguing against homosexuality. He is trying to explain the problem and put it into perspective, from a point of view considering society's problems.

    Edited:

He's explaining the problems society has with homosexuality. It's an observation, not his personal views.

You can't sway people arguing from a position of willful ignorance (not Ivan, anti-homosexual activists) with reason. Like I said, no reason to pander to bigots. There wasn't one during segregation and there isn't one now.

I like how you tried to make it seem like you just didn't like openly sexual people, but then took a jab at homosexuals specifically anyway.

    Edited:

Additionally, have you ever actually met anyone like this?

Unless the exchange you're imagining is:
A homosexual person mentions it once, you through a hissy fit because they had the audacity to mention it, and then you categorize him as 'openly gay and thus annoying'.

Yes i have and i still know the guy, though he's mellowed out now. (He's been my friend for many years and at the time only recently came out), But average conversations about anything, be it food, clothes, cars, games litterally anything, he would make a quip remark that he liked or did not like something because he was gay, because in case you did not know he's gay now. A few of his boyfriends have been exactly the same as he was, But his current partner is absolutly fine, he may make the odd joke or 2 but his sexuality does not rule ever single conversation.

But you must understand that person in particular is/was probably very insecure, and you shouldn't base your views on homosexuality based on that one person.

There's a difference between being who you are and being overtly proud of who you are - or, even more superficially and to the point, one aspect of who you are. We laugh at Arians, Black Panthers, and similar groups for this very reason. It's also why I can't stand "Bronies", as they are, seemingly, compelled to bring MLP into everything.
Sure, be who you are, but don't push it in the faces of everyone around you.

I'm not saying you don't but once again in the context of warfare, lets say were both in a skirmish with some insurgents. I run out of ammunition. You pass me a clip. I might not be thinking or shooting straight because I don't know if you have dickhands or not. I'm going to be thinking about what you did before this started.

You don't have to lack sanitation or care, but what if you were in a rush. What if this skirmish started right as you were jerking someone off. Would you stop to wash your hands first? Logically no, and thats why I support don't ask don't tell. Because American troops don't need to die worrying about their squadmates hands or sexuality. Anything else is ok. I'm not a homophobe, get married, have your own little neighborhoods and parades, I just don't want it around me or my family or on TV in music, printed, taught or really talked about outside of adult circles.

But do what makes you happy that's what life is all about!
I really don't know if your born that way or not, I just heard Lady Gaga say it but I assume you have to be since honestly if I could switch and suck dick for hundreds to thousands of dollars as an escort or do a man without puking I'd probably do it without blinking.

Jeez, I don't know why you would have a problem with sanitary conditions regarding penises considering you're a giant dickhead. So it shouldn't really be much different for you should it?

Anyways, I don't see the big deal. Some people act as if gay people somehow are different in such a way that they don't fit into our "straight" mental stature. It just goes to show that people really can't view it from a gay person's perspective. It's not really hard though, because some of you say, "I hate the gay people that are so open and out there!" What about the obnoxious straight couples that constantly flaunt their stupid relationships and shit out in public. You seem to act as if gay's just go out into the park and fuck each other. I've seen more straight couples do that then gays.

I dont believe in simply labelling them as gays... I have many friends that are homosexual, I treat them like all my other friends... I laugh at and with them in a day-to-day friendly way... I also know some homosexuals that I don't get on with due to mere personality clashes, and if I say something offensive, I'm not being homophobic, I simply don't like that individual.

I hate using words like "gay" as nouns instead of adjectives - "gays", "jews", "blacks", whatever, it should be "gay people", "jewish people", "black people" or else it just sounds insensitive, like their sexuality or race or religion somehow overrides their status as human.

By that logic, you also be distracted by a bachelor soldier, after all, we all know single men masturbate more, they might have touched their penis!.
Also what if they dare use the toilet before a skirmish starts, who knows if they have washed hands.
I am sorry but "dont know what they have touched" is a VERY weak reason for wanting DADT back. even discounting sexuality, there is plenty of reasons that would keep someone who would be worried about that, worried.

I'm being overly analytical? You're the one imagining a voice for him.

Besides, if the man in that picture is being flamboyantly gay, I shouldn't have to analyze it to come to that conclusion anyway.
