Title pretty much sums it up. I'm 17 and I started losing my sight a couple days ago, only now have I really started noticing the effects of whatever is causing it, everything is just getting darker and darker. I went to a doctor yesterday and I was basically told that they can't figure out what's causing it and that they don't know how to help out. I've been flipping my shit since and don't know what to do, mainly because I planned on being an artist for a living and now I can't even see my pencil. I still have a chance of becoming a programmer but don't know how to organize for the life of me so I guess I can throw that idea out the window. I don't know what I'm going to tell my girlfriend since she's also an artist and I won't even be able to see her work soon. I may be completely blind by the end of this week or even tomorrow morning simply because of how unpredictable this has been. I've got an entire life ahead of me and I won't be able to see a quarter of it.

I hope this isn't going to be goodbye forever Facepunch. I had a great time and hope to eventually be able to get back on if and when I can use the accessibility software that's out there.

    adéu :(

Wait, you're going from perfect vision to blind in only 4 or so days and the doctors cant tell why and wont look into it more?

Except that probably you're not, OP. You'd probably be in the hospital. When my grandfather started losing his sight they did SO many tests, and he was in for a few weeks.

But seriously, get that shit checked out, losing your eyesight in a few days is certainly not good, but I doubt you're permanently going blind. I'm slowly losing my vision, but it is taking MONTHS before I notice it gets slightly worse.

Also, being a musician I would keep my ears any day.

fuck man.. i hope it's nothing and you randomly get ALL your eyesight back. You should check your head (im not sure which, xray, ctscan, mri) for a tumor or anything. Because then you can remove it and hopefully get your eyesight back. I hope it's not as bad as that though. I hope it's just something really stupid that you will laugh at later in your life. Bye until results and good luck!

Honestly, if he is pretty serious about this girl he's with, he should take time and stare at her face. To remember it better. I mean that's what I would do... Something like that, just make it seem less corney.

Once you stop watching porn the blindness should go away after a while.

No on a serious note, go to a specialist, a eye doctor or something. Get that checked out quickly, it could be a lot of things. It might not even be related to your eyes, maybe just a side effect. Diabetes, stroke, etc.

If you do go blind, consider music. I'm not making a joke either, if I couldn't see I don't know what I'd do with myself but reading through this thread music came to mind. You just need to be able to find how to work it (guitar comes to mind quick) and you could be proficient at it still. Maybe write songs for your girlfriend or something.

    Just trying to be positive.
