-snip, bad reading-
On the second photo, how come there are slight diagonal lines across the concrete?
Just what I ordered.
Thankyou for this information
Even though this thread is 2 weeks or so old, im bumping this in hope it gets stickied. Its really useful info everybody who does posing should know.
Should I pm Starpluck and ask that a link to this thread be put in the sticky?
Seems like projectedtexture filter is bugged for me or something. Set to lower than 1 causes the shadows to disappear completely..
I'm bumping this up for how great it really is. People who have not seen this really need to.
You can produce some amazing looking stuff with these settings if you tweak them a little bit so and so.
Thanks so much for such a good guide!
I would've never know about this without this thread so thanks a lot
I know it's out of place, but nobody answered in Support forum. My posing detail distance is always the same,I tried to change it using cl_detaildist , cl_detailfade , cl_maxrenderable_dist,even the in-game tweaks, but the detai still fading away in short distance, somebody know how to fix this?
This is awesome. Somebody should make a stool for setting up the lamps, so we can change it's FOV and shit ingame. That would be hell of useful.
Thanks for the tutorial. This combined with an extra-low mipmap level makes for some nice closeup shots.
What is mipmap?
the information in this thread has opened me to a world of possibilities
are there any other commands that people can use to improve the quality of their screenshots?
Sorry for the bump, but the whole FOV thing is kinda confusing me, I'm not entirely understanding what exactly it changes.
Hasn't anyone talked to a moderator about stickying this thread?
I'm bumping this mainly because it's an insanely useful tutorial
I support all these fine people requesting stickyage. Helped me quite a bit.
Sticky this bitch!
I have little problem with shadows, how make a high quality shadows in options? I have lenovo g570 notebook with Radeon HD 6370M videocard but Gmod not see this and make medium quality shadows, how to fix it?
(Sorry for crappy english)
You can't. You're restricted by the graphics card in the note-book, sadly.
Source is just... Very restrictive sometimes.
Can someone help me please? I looked through this tutorial right and here's what I did. Opened Garrys Mod and opened console in the menu, put in r_shadowcolor 255 255 255, r_projectedtexture_filter 0.2, r_flashlightdepthres_4096 and when I shined a lamp on a barrel in a dark room it came out all grainy on the object and there was no shadow coming from behind the barrel. Help anyone?
I would really like to see this stickyed, it becomes hard to find this and threads like this now the search is restricted to goldies.
can't sticky, but I added it to the rules and resources page for y'all
I tried these commands and now none of my lamps work in game. I can spawn them but they do not illuminate anything at all, only my flash light does. How can i fix this, or at least reset it back to default shadows?
